How about making known seed types stackable?

I know that if you have no idea what kind of plant will grow from a seed then they should not be able to stack, but if the seed type is known then why should not these be stackable? I keep seeds to grow plants that produce Green Thorns, Red Leafs and Orange Petals around for when I need to grow more of them, when my supplies get low. Problem is when I do grow these plants, I have 20 or more plants going at the same time. Meaning I use up storage space keeping 60 or more seeds around at all times. The Thorns, Leafs and Petals all stack up so why not the seeds themselves?

I know many things need to be stackable like the granite stones and arcane gems and think all these need to be looked into. Lets change these so people can have more space in their homes.

Oh yes please! Much better than having chests of plants with seeds, if we could stash the seeds in a single stack.

I really hope the devs can find the time to make all identical items stack appropriately... I'd halve the storage I use if things like granite and seeds were stackable

you see they do not like these ideas, it seems. Selling storage space and making things stackable is not compatible.
Last example: These tiny chocolate pieces or blackrock pieces - shouldn't at least these stack if from same type?
(I think they don't, but I may have not checked to exactly.)
Its also a huge loss of time, to sort all these unstackable things again and again.
I don't like it to be honest - I even would like to stack identical items of each kind (like the 10 brown fluffy dragons or the snowballs or holiday tree deeds etc etc).

Dream on. Folks keep asking for more things stackable and EA just creats new stuff that isn't and sells house storage upgrades.

Some stacking requests, such as stone & sand are kind of no-brainers. But seeds are kind of a different prospect I imagine. It would depend on how the individual properties of the seed are factored in the cross-pollination combinations, and mutant probabilities. The way it is now, I think every seed has a unique item ID, and it includes the generation info of the plant (but I'm not sure about that). I am pretty sure that to get a chance at producing black & white mutants, you have to be using seeds at a certain generation level.

Using bright green snake plants as an example. To get a bright green snake plant, you need to cross a plain snake plant with a green plant. That gives you a seed that will produce a green snake plant (first generation seed from that will be labeled "a green seed"). Then you can cross 2 normal green snake plants, and get a bright green snake plant. (first generation seeds from that will be labeled "bright green seed"). I think if you cross any 4th generation plant and up, you have a chance to get a mutant.

If the "generation" levels all catch up, at a certain point, and make no difference, (i.e. if a seed labeled "a bright green snake plant" that is obtained from the very first "labeled" generation is the same as one obtained from the 50th in terms of properties, then they should be able to make them stack.

I'd be happy with something like a "seed packet".

While not a perfect solution to seeds not sacking, the way I do it only takes up 1 item and not 8.

What I do is, once the plant was produced 8 seeds I put in it secure container keeping the seeds on the plant. I do not make it decorative - it is still "alive" - vibrant or healthy. Plants do not need to be tended while in a secure or lockdown container.

You know even if they made all these items stackable, but had them still count against storage for each individual item, it would still be much handier. For example, you have a stack of 10 green seeds, it still counts as 10 items. Obviously, it would be much better to count it as 1 item, but at least this way it wouldn't hurt EA selling storage upgrades. Better than nothing at least.

If each seed needs to retain it's individual ID or properties, how about a container of some sort that reduces the number of lockdowns the seeds take by some percentage? I like the idea of a 'seed packet'. Maybe have a different container for each color of seed that you need to have in order to reduce the lockdowns taken. And, of course, you could only reduce the weight of seeds. Possibly only put seeds in there altogether.

I do the same thing. It works even better now that we can engrave containers.

This is what I do as well. It works well but I would still love to see seeds stackable. There is a whole list of items that need to be made stackable though.

Would LOVE to see seeds made stackable. I am close to going insane with all of the seeds and plants with seeds, not to meantion all of my deco plants, sitting in boxes, bags and chests. Would also love to see named plants being made stackable. I decorate for each season and holiday. My house storage is very limited. IMHO either or both of these suggestions would be a wonderful and VERY welcome addition for any true gardener or decorator.

I don't care if they are stackable or they give us a bod book renamed and rehued "a seed packet". Just give us something! On top of it they added 17 new plants and only one of them produces it's own seeds. So anyone stockpiling has a HUGE amount of seeds if they are serious about having a good number on hand. (I still cannot believe that implementation, but I digress).
