So, after you have control of a town, 3 days pass. The sigs come up for re-capture. You take them back to the base to re-corrupt them. Do you have to hold them another 10 hrs or ... ?

Yes you take them back to your base, then hold them for another 10 hours....but if you are the ones that corrupted them in the first place and you keep a different faction from corrupting them you will still own the towns.
