In my quest for a bit more randomization and interest...

Its nice there are NPC events like blackrock trade in.
Its nice there are quests (a bit rinse and repeat though).

What about a town that is filled with NPC traders. You wallk up to them and the you click them and they say they are interested in... COVE MAYBE.

They might rattle off a list of 3 things or 25 of the same thing.

It always changes. It has no rhyme or reason but what the NPC merchant wants.

Once you ask... and try again... The NPC says "Heres the list again - write it down."

You cant keep clicking him till you get something you like.

Its fully random.

After you get the items, he gives you a claim ticket for your trouble. You can do 3 things with the claim tickets.

1. Turn down the claim ticket and get a random item from the NPC you traded with. (all kinds of new items, resources, etc)

2. Go the the NPC claim ticket hut and see what they have to claim that day. Items there may change daily, weekly or monthly. They are valued with different claim ticket totals. More is not necessarily better. You might need 1 ticket or 20 tickets for an item.

3. Keep your claim ticket and sell it on your Vendor.

Items will not all be arties. Though one could appear. Theyd mostly be deco's and resources. Some cool clothing to wear from exotic lands. Odd dyes. Spices. Plants. Wierd effects you can blend into you weapon that gives them sounds of warning... or a glow for night fighting. Nothing over powering. Odd foods.

Anyway. Make the game a bit more interesting for brainless wandering and exploring.

I'd like it if NPCs could just travel. You know... act like real people. Caravans between cities. Merchant Fleets between Islands. Loading and unloading Cargo. Vendors closing and locking up shop and night and posting guards so no one breaks in. Thieves stealing shop keys and robbing stores, then hawking their wares on the street.

I can imagine, but it'll never be. :sad3:

Good idea. I miss the lottery guys in DAoC. Was fun when ya was bored. I think the best random trade`in concept I`ve seen is in Atlantica Online. For an f2p game it is immense but the turn based fighting killed it for me.

I only mentioned Atlantica because I was shocked at the amount of side "things" like trading merchants, lotteries, betting and a slue of other things I can`t remember this early.

Would be awsome in UO.
