Housing Timer

Those of you that know me on europa know how i feel about housing timers after idoc, BUT this is not about that!! well sort of


DEVs is there a chance the rules can be changed so that IF a player is alone at an idoc, loots it themselves and decides to place, can there be NO timer???


i am sat at a nice spot, on my tod, for a hour so far, would be kinda nice to get the plot in and go do other things

is this possoble?

How long is this timer anyways? Is it random or?

Me and a friend will be attending an isoc tonight and my friend wants to place afterwars... would be nice to know how long we have to wait

Im not 100% sure but i think its from 20 mins up to 4 hours.

I did a fair bit of idoccing in my day & still believe the timer is a great feature.

In the past idoccers used to argue over who was first to a spot & some even believed that being first gave them some kind of holy rights to the space. Wrong. Being first essentially meant nothing more then an improved chance at the best loot. Being alone when it fell though did mean first shot at placement. No more. Now it just means a bit more peace & quiet

Those are the rules and they were put in place for good reason. An attempt to curb cheating I believe.
Everyone that has played the game for awhile is aware of how much cheating used to go on at idocs with scripts, barrels, etc...
I'm sure cheating still goes on but I think that the honest looter now has a slightly better chance.

Bottom line is that for various reasons house decaying/placing rules have had to change and evolve since the game began. Deal with it.
I have done my fair share of buying/selling items for rl cash but housing has always been a huge issue. Most serious idoccers ONLY play the game to place & sell houses for rl cash. IMO that is not healthy and should be curbbed. These people contribute absolutely nothing to the community & make it harder for others to get along.

I agree, the timer is a good thing. I do hate the housing tool timing out, but it too is a good thing. The scripters rarely get the houses now, more luck of the draw.
