Housing Timer!! Why?!?!

As I type this, I sit here attempting to place a house. The previous house fell 45 minutes ago. I'm told this can go on for four hours. I understand its an attempt to level the playing field with scripters, but... If your time means jack anyway because you're afk while your script tries to place a house, by the time this stupid freaking timer is up all the legit players will be gone.

This particular spot has some sentamental value, as I used to own the plot before I quit. I've been out here camping it since like 9am. Its now 4:40pm. And I could be here until 8pm? What??

It is completely random, and actually just recently a friend camped a spot.. waited four hours.. signed off came back 4 hours later and the spot still wasn't available for placement. In the end it took 14hours...

I'm with Flutter INCREASE the timer...

I will have to take it as this is your first IDOC since the new changes...You won't get much sympathy from non-scripters who place now. It has totally leveled the playing field. It is very unlikely a scripter places now at these spots. Read up on the other rules to house placing and you will see that 99.9% of house placers now ARE legit.

That's two hours after the fall. I was sitting at that plot from about 9am central.

Yeah, its my first since the changes as they occured while I was gone. Its good to hear that this has somehow decreased the amount of illigitimate placers... but I reallly don't see how. I was basically sitting there hitting the same sized house on the same square about once every minute or two, which I imagine you could pretty easily script.

What's the longest you've had to wait after the house fell?
