Housing resize?

Anyone else notice.. On tc that still cant use those famous words"i wish to resize my house"? They posted Players are able to resize instead of demolish houses by saying "I wish to resize my house". NOTE: This DOES count as demolishing a house and WILL condemn existing houses on grandfathered accounts. (Further note: making housing changes (placing, demolishing, etc) on Test Center does not affect houses on production shards.)

Thank you Michelle that worked! However after the house was demolished I was told I had to wait 2 hours before I could replace the house. I placed the plot today so I"m not sure where the 2 hours came from. I suppose on a production shard this wouldnt be an issue.

Hmm, would of been nice to mention this little detail in the notes, in the pub 52 test center, you could resize the house from anywhere on plot, and i dont remember them ever mentioning having to be under sign since then.

They changed it during the pub 52 TC and mentioned it on Stratics forums before the fail, after some people pointed out the danger of a house owner attempting to tell someone how to do it, and accidentially dropping their own house (and leaving the contents lootable - oops...).

What I wonder is whether it's safe to resize your house while you have things in the Moving Box..

They changed it during the pub 52 TC and mentioned it on Stratics forums before the fail, after some people pointed out the danger of a house owner attempting to tell someone how to do it, and accidentially dropping their own house (and leaving the contents lootable - oops...).

I and like many others never read or saw that post if they did mention it.Thanks lady michelle for pointing it out tho.There is many that don't read straitcs and i see no mention of it in uo.com. so let's say a noob or a vet player tries what thye only mention i wish to reisize my house and get nadda reponse thye have to assume it's not working cause our lovley dev's can't mention it for everyone to know and see and test on Uo.com.

Just would be nice is all im saying to have more detail.

i tested on tc with an item in relocate box and i use the resize method all your items go poof when plot goes,so make sure when you resize nothing is in there,also if items are locked down all will goto floor and free for anyone to pick up. I would ahve hoped they could have made a way to drop your house with items and it goes into a temp box once you replot to size desired you possibly click on yourself and unpack items like as in char transfer method?

I stand on steps and say " I wish to resize my house" and get a gump that says I am attempting to or something soo i check it and then get & 7hour wait thing again. Tried this in another spot LOL!!!!!!!!


tHIS IS not FUN. I thought it would show a shadow of how big the house could be or say it it could not be made any bigger. Nope. It just demolished like normally would, nothing was different.

What did I do wrong? I just do not see how resize is any different unless of course during the 7 hour resize wait no one can place there???

Guess I just expected more.

If in KR, try " i wish to resize my house"
Not sure if KR still don't like upper case letters in commands.

Still a shame that we dont have the ability to add 1 or 2 floors to current places without demolishing, knocking down every vendor, restocking etc.

Would be good if , as in RL, we could just build the 2 empty floors on top......

Just my thoughts , as someoone who bought 3 ready made lovely looking plots, but each of only 2 floors, with no 3rd floor or roof made/used

The only thing I can't seem to get out of my mind is why in the daylights they didn't just have all the contents move into a dadgum moving crate so we don't have to attempt to gather up Gawd knows how many packies to contain all our stuff so we don't loose it whilst doing this neat thingy?

WELL, it;s just the area that will be acct bound for a period of time untill you replot your home as for the 7 hr thing it's test center..real shard will will be one week.
However noone really knows but the 7 day timer is ONLY for recieving not placing. you can replot all day every day np of course you have to wait 1 hr now between drops. i wish they would have did what you said earlier bout giving us a type of grid of where is the propper place to plot so we dont have to try and try then get a tool cool off message.

What really needs to be tested is if anyone else can place after someone else resizes, because it would be a bummer if it makes it to the production shards, that part doesnt work, someone places, and steals someones spot.

Never drop or resize a house til you have everything removed completely.
This is what I do when I need to store stuff when Im going to drop a house I use blue beetles on characters I know I wont go hunting on, or need at the time. fill up their bank boxes. the blue beetles, and then their back packs. jump on the beetle, and log off. then whats left over I move to my other houses or to boats. I never used packies never know when a monster will spawn in that area, and kill them. Wait a few days incase someone was around watching me you know how those stealthers are I know cuz I is one LOL better to be save than sorry before I would track the area for a while, and in fel I would stealth around see if I would run across someone invisible. No one around I drop the house and replot.
