Well I dunno if it should be that sophisticated, I'd be happy to have to travel to each house to look for something. If we ask for too much we definitely won't get anything.Yes, that would make a great store token - adding search capability to your character which helps you to find downlocked, secured, carried or banked items in (co)owned houses, in which you just are, in the bank boxes of all characters on the account/shard, in their backpacks or on their paperdolls etc.
As it is I would buy such a token for all my active accounts.
Some of us have some kind of malady called "Hang onto that, you may need it later". Nice that you're so neat and organized, but neat and organized don't equate to remembering what is where in this game with thousands of items. If your going to be a great hoarder. Need to learn to be a great sorter. Otherwise it is just a junk pile.
I have a junk pile called my 4th account. Characters, house and the holdings are of no loss if shut down. Or what used to be called a Mule account and BoD house.
"Hello? It is called spring cleaning" Task that is even needed for pixels.
10 houses, max storage or larger, distributed over various shards + increasing age (brain not as it once was) + a stack of stuff from this or that IDOC can cause a lot of confusionI don't remember a time when I had problems finding anything in my house. Some of you guys must have way too much stuff and must be very disorganized if you routinely have this issue.
My idea is keep it simple, it would search for anything in the house only, no bankbox, no friended or co-owned houses and would work only for the house owner. Search by name just like the vendor search basically. I'm not a programmer so I have no idea how complicated it is but I'm reasonably sure it's not even remotely close in complexity to the vendor search. How, exactly, would this even work?
Would this just be to see what is in the house or do you also envision it informing the player as to where in the house the item of interest is? I ask because if it is just to see what is in the house I can't see much value for it other than leading to a kind of reaction where one goes "Great, my hours of searching through my mess will not be in vain."My idea is keep it simple, it would search for anything in the house only, no bankbox, no friended or co-owned houses and would work only for the house owner. First you admit, that you have absolutely no clue of how complicated this is. But still you find it reasonable to think, that it is not even remotely close in complexity to vendor search? Seriously?I'm not a programmer so I have no idea how complicated it is but I'm reasonably sure it's not even remotely close in complexity to the vendor search.
I apologize for my stupidity, firstly for posting this. Forget I ever did it, on with it, I'm outa here. I didn't mean to downplay the simplicity or the complexity of this, my knowledge of programming is zero. Some of you people are just way way over the top, post some idea that you think would be a good idea and boy, get flamed like it's PVP.First you admit, that you have absolutely no clue of how complicated this is. It all depends on their database model. It can either be implemented in no time or the model (or lack of same) can make it nearly impossible and completely unfeasible.
If you don't remember, where you put your stuff, devise a system of where you put which items. Also containers can be labeled, etc...
Idea was fairly selfish and sucked so you took a bit of heat for it. No big deal. I have certainly posted some bad ideas in my time lol.I apologize for my stupidity, firstly for posting this. That's more like an "anti-wife" token for me, reversing someone's rearrangement without understanding what some things are, and therefore not knowing what I'm talking about when asking where something went.I need to do that Scribbles. Seven houses full o'stuff. Every time I go to find something it is a treasure hunt.
I would definitfly by a "Wife Token" from Origin to be able to search a house.

It's a forum, what did you expect?
Get over it and maybe drop the whole martyr thing though?
