House customization & vendors

One of the best aspects of UO is that we can design our own house.

The biggest problem is you cannot customize the house while other people have vendors on it.

I have a few ideas but I'm not a developer. I just think it would be worth trying to address the issue and the best way to start is by brainstorming.

so maybe if some of you agree with me we can use this thread to come up with some ideas or at least gauge support.

Yeah I get kinda irritated by this too. Once I had my shoppe owned by one account and all the vendors were rented out to another account. When I wanted to redesign I couldn't.

The functionality is certainly already there. House customization works just fine for vendors that are owned by the house owner.

I have to think that the only reason the devs did it this way was to prevent griefing of vendor contract holders by house owners knocking down their vendors, using house customization, before the contract expired.
