I noticed this morning that one of my houses was 'sligthly worn' so I reactivated the account, logged in.. used the door.. gone in and out, reglogged.. and it is still condemned.. It's now at 'fairly worn' and I can't get it to un-condemn.. any suggestions? Or have they made this impossible now?
There is no other house on this account.. any suggestions?

Think you have to wait for server up for a reset but maybe someone can give you a more definite answer but I believe thats what I remember.

The method of opening the door to refresh the home, works only on grandfathered houses as far as I know.
To prevent your home from falling, you have to trade it. Wether between your accs (requires 2 pc´s or any way to open two clients at the same time) or trade it with a real trustworthy friend.
If you don´t have mass amounts of items in it, you could also take all items out (bank boxes, giant beetles, load all chars full) and resize it (will be demolished, but only you can place on this spot for one hour).
Hope that helps you a bit!

Btw, if it went failry worn today, it´ll go greatly worn tomorrow and go idoc the day after.

Last I knew, you had to go through 1 server cycle (Down & Up) once an Account is reactivated then it should be good as New again. If it doesn't & I wouldn't wait too long (DO NOT wait a couple of days till it gets to condemned for nothing can be done there other then transferring it to another), I would put a page in to a GM (Could wait a bit there :bored:) and have him/her possibly assist you by looking into it on why it didn't go back to normal as it should of.

I was certain it would refresh if it wasn't 'idoc', pretty sure that's what happens in the past (by just reactivating the account).

Pretty silly!

Let it go through a server up before paging a GM.

My question is, why are you maintaining a house on an account that you're not continuously paying for? Seems like wasted space if you're just holding it by reactivating/paying once every 6 months or so.

I suppose it would make sense if you had to give up UO altogether for a while, but you said this was one of several homes. If you're not going to use the account, get rid of the house and make room for people who will.

Not that it is any of your business, but I do use the account/house. It is a guild house. So used by plenty of people. I keep it open for others to use. The only reason it went idoc and wasn't reactivated sooner is because I've been in and out of hospital with my daughter over the past few months and when I changed my cc I forgot to change all of my uo accounts, had a few other things on my mind.

Also, there is hardly a shortage of housing spots.. and I don't think anyone is going to miss this little 7x7 spot that my guild has used as a lookout point for 8 years, do you?

The only way to save it is to trade it to someone else, if I remember right. Once a house starts decaying, there's no other way to stop it.

In the meantime, I advise moving everything out of it and getting raedy to place it all over again, just to be safe.

According to EA and thier support site, it should revert back to non-decaying status after 24 hours from the account reactivation time
How do I actually uncondemn the house?

Your house will uncondemn itself within 24 hours of your account reactivation. Should it not do so then please open the house sign and select the Ownership tab. On there you will see a button for Make Primary. Selecting this will make this your primary home and stop the decay. Should this button be grayed out you will want to see the next question, "My house won't uncondemn?!" The house status is always listed on the Information page of the house sign.

My house won't uncondemn?!

To find out why lets go down the short list of possibilities. Firstly, is this the only house on the account and/or the most recently gained? If yes then has it been more than 24 hours since you reactivated the account? We generally say 24 as it can take up to 24 hours for all the various involved databases to synchronize. This includes the transaction for your account payment, the account database and the housing database. As long as the house still has 48 more hours before it decays then go ahead and wait 24 hours. Should your house still not uncondemn after 24 hours of account activity then please page a game master. Do this by selecting Help on your paperdoll, then the Other option and Other once more. In your page text be absolutely certain to mention that, "I have reactivated my account more than 24 hours ago and my house will not uncondemn and it is now beyond the slightly worn status!" The exclamation mark is optional of course, but the point is to clearly relay the fact that you have in fact followed the process correctly and now require an intervention. As this is a time sensitive issue please be as clear as possible.

When I had the same problem, I tried opening doors and opening the house sign gump and got a bit worried when nothing happened straight away, but the next day it was all fine and "automatically refreshed" again. Not sure if that was because of the 24 hours after reactivation that someone has referred to above, I thought it was just the next server / housing server daily maintenance.

I think if it gets to IDOC the only way to refresh it is to transfer it.

Hope you save your guild house and that you and your daughter are fine now.

Edit: I'm not sure if the situation is different if it's grandfathered, I've never had more than one house on an account, but I had a feeling that the rules were nastier and that you might not be able to uncondemn a grandfathered house except by transferring it.

i've had houses condemned a few times in the past and activating the account usually worked because by the next day it would be all fine again. but there was one time that it didn't work .. house was still condemned the next day after i activated the account. so i got worried and paged a gm, waited 2 to 3 hours just to receive a canned message telling me to check the support site. from the support site it says wait 24 hours and as long as the house still has 48 more hours before it decays then go ahead and wait 24 hours. i followed that and waited .. after 24 hours of account activation, house still condemned .. waited 24 more hours, IT'S STILL CONDEMNED! so at that point i got really worried .. it's been over 48 hours and house is in greatly worn status and it's still condemned. so i paged gm and i even used the phrase from support site "I have reactivated my account more than 48 hours ago and my house will not uncondemn and it is now beyond the greatly worn status!". waited over 2 hours and received a canned message telling me to check the support site, AGAIN! :cursing: i paged again and waited over 2 hours again and this time i received a canned message telling me to sent in a bug report! :cursing::cursing::cursing: my house is gonna fall how does reporting a bug gonna help!? screw the gms, i'm not gonna page and waste hours waiting for some stupid canned message again because it was obvious that either the gms were super lazy and not doing their jobs or they just lack the knowledge of the stuff on the support site .. cause i followed all the steps and used the exact phrase from the support site to clearly relay the fact that i have in fact followed the process correctly and now require an intervention. and they failed to see it. :wall:

at the end i moved stuff out of the falling house and the house fell. wasted $ to activate the account for nothing and wasted hours of waiting for stupid canned messages, only to get pissed about it.:rant2:

floria, if your house is still condemned and it's falling, you may have to do what esmeralda said, find a trustworthy friend and trade the house to prevent it from falling.

I need the exact coordinates of this possible IDoC, to, uh....make sure it doesn't fall. ...Yeah, that's the ticket.

Just FYI, once your houses entered "decaying" on a grandfathered account, you become subject to the same rules that everyone else operates by, and so you get to choose which house to make primary, and the others will no longer be grandfathered.

The only way to keep grandfathered houses, and make sure you keep them, is to consistently and constantly pay for the account, and make sure to quickly correct any billing issues, because if it hits the deadline, you lose your grandfathered status.

It will refresh after a server maintenance.

I know some posters told you the only way to save it is to trade it. This is wrong. You only have to trade it if it's gone all the way to In Danger of Collapsing. Any IDOC stage before that and a server up is all that's required to refresh it.
