Horned, Spined & Barbed Bone Armor - Shouldn't it retain the Leather Color?

Even with the "Retain Color" option checked, tailoring Horned, Spined & Barbed Leather + Bones gives "Hue 0" Horned/Spined/Barbed Bone Armor.

Is this a bug, or the procedure has been changed?

The Tailoring Gump still says "The Item Retains the Color of this Material", but the resulting Bone Armor pieces always came out as "Hue 0"...

Yeah at the Origin Meet and Greet someone asked why we can't dye Bone Armor...Bonnie just said *Cus it was never put in*

I would assume the same goes for crafting it, it just can't be colored. Makes no sense but that would be my best guess.

But there exist Bone Sets with the "right" H/S/B colors (have all three of them), so I suppose at least until a certain time it worked...

And one can dye Bone Armor with Tokuno, etc, but NOT with any Tub...

Also add wooden shield to the wooden armor ones.

Bone armor is bone armor. The bones are white so the armor is also. They do not dye with leather tubs, they are not leather armor.

But once it was possible to craft H/S/B colored Bone pieces and, in the crafting process, one still has to use more Leather than Bones. I wish to know if someone knows when the thing changed and why...

Yes, but there is no dye of the exact same Hue of the H/S/B Leather.

Yes, way back when you crafted bone armor with those leathers, you got the exact leather color you used on the bone piece.. Maybe some rares collector had some obscure bone piece that was similar and flipped out.

Think it was more along the lines that when you enhanced with a special material it changed the colour. I think crafting bone armour was always in the usual colour - but then enhancing with Spined, Horned or Barbed would change to blue / red / green.

Miscellaneous Bugfixes : Enhanced Bone armor should no longer take the color and name of the leather it is enhanced with.

The devs fixed a bug.

Not my opinion the opinion of the people who made the game. It was labeled as a Bugfix.... I dye my armor so I don't care what color they started as.

I don't recall seeing a Green Barbed bone helmet. I also doubt I made any bone pieces before 2003.

IMO a Green bone suit would be rare because none of the color bone loot items are green.
Also a red horned would probably look cool.

Maybe @S_S can enlighten us, or some other crafter that kept everything.

So Bone armor crafted to be Hue 0, When enhancing came out, the pieces turned the color of the leather, but the devs decided that was a bug for Bone armor and they stopped that from happening?

back in the day i completed a full suit of all the leather colors with my crafter it was not an enchancing thing. if u made it with horned u would get red bone armor and the same with the others. I sadly sold off the pieces at an auction years ago and i dont remember what i got for them.

I took a break for a while after T2A came out and until Trammel was made. I had a Smith but no Tailor at that time.

Id put a set of either Barbed or Horned on a mannequin if I had the pieces.
