I hope someday to see an end to my hopefulness, wishful-thinking, naivite, innocence, ignorance and hopes for an idyllic UO future. I'm tired of hoping!

This is a somewhat negative view on the current state of the game. Devs, please fix the well (and over)-defined problems. The bulk of your player-base is begging you!

From the last springs the rest. There is no cure for the root of the problem on our end, but the results can be mitigated.

I'll also be hoping the devs can undo what's happened to our game.

While I can fully understand your disillusionment, you have to try to be realistic.

A program of the complexity of UO will always have bugs. This is something every professional programmer can tell you.
When a game has bugs, players WILL find them and exploit them for their personal advantage.
As soon as you are entering the internet, you will be faced with scams. Everywhere.
Human greed, avarice, selfishness and nastiness. They are part of the human nature. This game is played by humans.

I would recommend to concentrate on the positive aspects of UO. Then the game actually will be fun. It is your personal choice how much you let yourself be affected by the downsides you mentioned.

P.S.: I am not saying that EA couldn't do a better job about removing bugs and exploits. I'm just saying, that they are there, in EVERY game.

I wont be giving up on UO anytime soon, even if all the bugs and scripters arent sorted il still be playing, even if it is just to go sit at a bank to avoid any hackers ect lol!

Human beings have been around for how long, and these problems haven't been solved easily? Technology hasn't fixed them. Wealth hasn't fixed them. Laws haven't fixed them. Religion hasn't fixed them. These problems are larger than UO.

The dev team isn't going to make a kinder gentler world. The most they can do is try to reduce the effect of these on the game. It is very hard since new bugs come about constantly, and people find ways of getting around the fixes to old ones.

This game world and the real world aren't as hopeless as they seem some days. Focus on the good things. Sometimes taking a vacation from the "end of UO is near" posts on Stratics is a good way to keep positive.
