Yes, but there's a reduction in possible honor to gain. The amount you gain is based on your honor vs. its fame, with modifiers for magic effects used against it (I think Barding falls into this, but not sure if Chiv buffs do), damage from a distance, damage from pets/summons, etc. How the modifiers go into it, I don't know, but it's noticeable when trying to gain honor fighting the same type a target with a bard/tamer, compared to a chiv swordsman.

That's what I thought. I think for most honor, target must not have any negative effects on it. Yea, not sure about bumping up yourself with buffs and what not. That shouldn't affect anything unless like you said, your using a pet or attacking from range.

The rhyme and reason I'm asking is because I'm trying to get hornor for my tamer so she can more easily tame aggressive creatures. I soul stoned all her taming skills, changed her stats and gave her a melee skill, tactics & anatomy, but was wondering if I could get away with using barding skills. ;) hehe
