I would like to share a story about what happened a few days ago and get other players opinions on the matter.

A few days ago i was working the cu sidhe spawn in the weald and another tamer shows up (Shadow from ToT) we talk briefly as he mentioned being there to check on his blaze cu spawn (assumingly joking). I continue working the spawn killing off random cus when the next thing i see is hes taming a white cu i had just made spawn.

I thought it was common courtesy that if a tamer is working the cu spawn any spawns he makes would ideally be his, but no he gets it and takes off.

The next day i talk to Dar (of ToT) and tell him of this occurence hoping maybe he would uphold some kind of honor or fairness in the matter. but his response pretty much was since it spawned off screen its not mine and was perfect fair of him to take it.

See this is where i disagree. pulling something like that off says alot about who you are.

There were 2 other players in the weald who if they were paying some attention would have seen what had happened
a tailor named poison ivy
and oron (was farming swoops)

also Dar i appreciate that you gave me a white cu from your stable to maintain the harmony in the matter and originally i had hoped it would but truthfully it doesnt:( every time i look at this cu i remember what happened and the feeling of it hits me all over again.

Number one I am not a tamer. ok now that is out of the way I TOTALY agree with what you are saying here. It is nice to honor someone else huntting, tamming, farmming, or what ever. BUT that is part of the game. there will always be some one out there looking for the easy way out. It will happen agian (sorry to say) I know cuz I have been ther in other spots. I suggest that you let this go it would apper that another guild member has tried to help where thier guildmate failed. I wouldn't hold the guild responable for one persons action. There is my 2 cents.

Hail Folks,

I shall speak for my young cousin, for his voice does not directly reach this Forum. The Original Poster of this Thread went taming in the Weald. Dar (TOT) is often to be found taming there himself. The Weald is no bread basket, but an area of a great many steps walking north and south and almost as many steps walking east and west. Baja, while not as populated as say, Atlantic, is still a shard of hundreds of players and likely thousands of payers.

When one enters the Weald, even as a Tamer, one does not cede the entire area nor the spawn of all Cu's to a Tamer already present. What one person may think polite, another may well consider an undue burden or quaint custom. However, to say all other Tamers are "Honor" bound to yield to another tamer, be they seen and known or unseen, is absurd. If Dar tames a White Cu and returns it to his stable, and its absence yields the spawn of a blaze, or even black or red Cu, are they by right, Honor, or custom also Dar's to tame or pass upon? Of course not.

The Original Poster was there seeking a "keeper." Shadow (TOT), was also there seeking a keeper. He attempted to aid and advise tamers there on methods and tactics. As the Original poster was taming in the northern end of the Weald, and Shadow was in the south end, a White Cu spawned. Shadow (TOT) already had a bonded Cu with him. He returned to a stable, stabled his Cu and returned to the Weald. On his first TWO attempts he failed to bend the will of the Cu to his own. On his THIRD attempt along comes the Original Poster who watches Shadow tame the White Cu on that THIRD attempt.

Now, the Original Poster thinks to himself, I was here, admittedly as were two others, before I noticed Shadow (TOT) in here. That White Cu I never even saw until after Shadow (TOT) left, stabled his Cu, returned, and on his THIRD attempt, tamed that Cu, should belong to me.

Shadow (TOT) had only a day or two earlier tamed a White Cu with max hits, which he Gifted to another Player, and so wanted this one for his own stables. No agreement existed between the Original Poster and Shadow (TOT). So Shadow (TOT) retained that which he alone had tried and succeeded in taming.

The Original Poster, a member of UTB, did not speak to his own Guild Members, nor to their Guild Leader. He did send me a Private Message seeking my intervention in the matter.

I spoke at length with Shadow (TOT) to get the fullest picture I could of what happened. I then replied to the Private message and asked the player to have his char seek out Dar (TOT) in game, where he often is.

Dar (TOT) and this players char met in game and fully discussed the matter. Dar asked the char if he had discussed the matter with his own Guild Leader and was told he had not. Dar (TOT) sent a summary of the matter to UTB's Guild Leader over ICQ and to another senior member in UTB. Lastly Dar (TOT) explained that absent any prior agreement, and given the facts as stated by both the Original Poster and Shadow (TOT), Dar believed the Original Poster had no claim on the White Cu but as an attempt at achieving "Harmony," Dar offered the Player a rather exceptional White Cu from his own stable. After thinking the offer over, the Original Player accepted Dar's (TOT) offer and took transfer of Dar's Cu and stabled it.

Now after all parties believed the matter settled and Harmony restored, the Original Poster comes here to whine like a whipped dog, ill fed and mistreated.

Dar still holds the Original Poster had no valid claim to Shadow's Cu other than one created only in the Original Posters mind or evil heart.

Hopefully now that the Original Poster has had his very public say, and on behalf of Dar (TOT) I have given my public reply, Harmony may now be restored.

I can't say about the issue of spawns itself, because I've never had a problem taking from others but I gotta say that Dar's certainly done his utmost to make peace. If I had to research and interview everyone that had a complaint about Cartel, I'd never get time to play. I do disagree with Dar's later comments on OP's intent though...might be better to not start another argument with such strong words.

And I just wanted to point out that Shadow of TOT is a good guy. Again, I don't know what the etiquette for tamers is, but when a request was made on General Chat to help out a RP'ing woman gain Lady status for her marriage's sake, the whole shard was quiet except for Shadow who offered to help.

Not everyday you have guys and gals pay attention to a new character who needs some help killing high level monsters. Shadow's one of those guys, and based on that alone, I don't think he's a bad chap.
