HLA and HLD working together.

I have a buddy who swears that HLD and HLA don't work at the same time. He says, from his experience, he's noticed that one or the other of them seem to be active at any time, but not both.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed anything that would make them think they either work, or don't work together?

They work together.
What we have here are two differing opinions.

Is there any data or reference information out to substantiate either one or the other?.

Stupid Miner I tend to agree with you. I don't see why properties on weapons would cancel out the other. I understand special moves being mutually exclusive but as far as properties on weapons cancelling eachother out it would be the first I've heard of it.

More information from anyone who has it to solve this riddle once and for all would be much appreciated.

I wish we had more info on the test shard available to use, like a window with the targets stats including HCI and DCI. Then it would be easy to watch to ensure they BOTH go down.

Unfortunately, we don't have access to that information.

It's like asking if hit harm and hit fireball would work together if they were on the same weapon.

Dig around, you'll find a FoF probably on UOGuide with the answer.

HLA reduces the adversary's chance to hit you. HLD reduces the adversary's chance to defend against your attack. They are the antagonists of HCI and DCI respectively. You can most certainly have both DCI and HCI on the same character. HLA in essence reduces the adversary's HCI. HLD reduces the adversary's DCI. If the adversary (such as a monster) has 0 HCI and/or DCI, then it equates to a negative value for HCI and/or DCI while HLA/HLD are in effect. Does that make more sense? So yes, they can work together.

No reason why they'd be mutually exclusive, otherwise the same could be said for HCI/DCI.
Both work as Hit Properties on weapons at the same time, just as leeches do :)

One of the Developers was asked that question and confirmed in UHall that they can both be in effect at the same time, for both PvM and PvP. It's been about two years since that was posted, but you should be able to find the reference if you look hard enough.
