That's what I used, a 70% energy damage one. With EoO and AI I was hitting for between 195-240.Composite bow with snake slayer, mana leech and hit fireball would be my choice.

Any way for a mage to come close to this damage per spell to have a shot at a drop? Haven't done an event in years. That's what I used, a 70% energy damage one. With EoO and AI I was hitting for between 195-240.
I've had lots of drops using a tamer with magery and eval. Send the dragon in then tank with spells. I have about 60 SDI and try to use a slayer spellbook when possible.Any way for a mage to come close to this damage per spell to have a shot at a drop? Haven't done an event in years.
It's going to be tough for a mage to deal that kind of damage. At the beginning of the event, my mage kept getting the 'target cannot be seen' message. I finally figured out that I should be standing as close to the water as possible but about 10 tiles from the boss. If you stand on top of the archers you should be able to do damage.Any way for a mage to come close to this damage per spell to have a shot at a drop? Haven't done an event in years.
You can try a snake slayer, and massive SDI! My mage rolls with 100+ SDI, and my experience is that with the EM events an archer is a better choice than him.Any way for a mage to come close to this damage per spell to have a shot at a drop? Haven't done an event in years.
Ya, I agree. I think a mage would have a tough time with this one. If you get to where you can hit him it will probably be tough to stay alive unless you have a ton of HP.It's going to be tough for a mage to deal that kind of damage. pure mage is very difficult for alot of bosses. I built a few basic mages for events but later abandoned them for archers. between freezes and interupptions, as well as if its in a guard zone (have to gate in summons) it can be difficult sometimes just to get looting rights. my advice is supplement magery with spellweaving (with a high focus) and get in word of deaths. Or use a greater dragon (or other pets), most your "looting rights" will be in the form of damage taken by the dragon, supplemented by healing it as well as the actual damage the dragon does. High SDI suit also never hurts. when it was top damager rather than random i had good luck with a tamer / spellweaver with a suit at around 115 sdi. thats a little overkill now, id shoot for around 90 sdi. Also dont be afraid to take damage. Remember damage taken and damage healed counts towards looting rights too (at about two thirds compared to damage done)Any way for a mage to come close to this damage per spell to have a shot at a drop?
