It was announced that ships will sustain damage and will need to be repaired through various crafting skills.

This is wonderfull and all very nice.

Question.

Will damage be sustained by ships merely and only in combat or will we actually also see (which would be super cool) also ROUGH wheather implemented with the booster with ships actually taking damage also from rough seas and strong winds when sailing ?

Will we be able to have ship combat in ROUGH wheather to have added variables of uncertainty to the combat equation ?

Will it be necessary for ships to HAVE TO find harbour shelter when sea conditions are too rough to sail it ?

Will it be possible for ships to remain stranded in the middle of the Seas because their Captain was too hazardous and adventured in too rough seas only to have the ship de-masted or de-sailed by winds too strong ?

Will we have dynamic Sea sailing ??

It sounds like a good idea, and a natural addition.

Yes damage should be sustained through bad weather with torn sails. Perhaps running into land should do hull damage and should start sinking the ship.

I was thinking sort of along these lines...
Although somewhat realistic, we don't have the benefit of being able to see several miles to the horizon, to see such impending doom. If we assume the boats travel at mounted speed, then you'd reach the limits of your vision in a couple of seconds.
If there were visible swell, and a way to see the direction of the storm/whatnot, then it could work.

What I would like to see is wind direction.
Say the wind's blowing westerly (from west to east), then that would affect the speed you travel in different directions.
The simplest example being the orc ship (which is more or less square rigged) would have to tack widely to travel into the wind, while the Tokuno ship would be able to travel closer to the wind (it's sails are more or less gaff-rigged).
Also, "stealing" wind would be an interesting PvP tactic (putting yourself between the wind and another ship, disrupting the flow of air).

But, regardless, the booster itself is relevant to my interests.
