It has just been brought to my attention by Saelion of [PaxF], Chancellor of the Interior for PaxLair City, that the High Court of the PaxLair Statehood will have it's grand opening in the near future.

I have seen, and heard, firsthand the construction of this impressive building over the past week, since it is located right next door to my keep in the East Meadow of the city. While I must admit that I was somewhat annoyed at times with the noise of construction, it will be nice indeed to have the High Court located here. I encourage you all to visit and see the courtroom and execution areas. It seems there is also a jail, as I've been told, located on the premises but it seems to be locked at this time.

As soon as there is information regarding the grand opening I shall pass it your way!

Godspeed!

Hmmm, this is most interesting. I always thought that PaxLair held neutrality in her dealings. Providing haven for those who follow the virtues as well as those who would be murderers, cutthroats, and thieves.

It is home to humans, elves, and even orcs. So, I have to ask without malice, what purpose would this High Court serve? Will it be for criminal proceedings? Will it be for peacefull resolution of grievances between opposing viewpoints?

The High Court will serve the citizens of the Statehood and the Statehood itself. PaxLair has some laws and decrees. Our neutrality does offer the opportunity for all kinds of people to come to one place in peace. Yet our neutrality does not mean lawlessness of course. Our Neutrality Law even states: "PaxLair is a Community of Neutrality. People or groups coming to PaxLair in the spirit of Neutrality will not be attacked, stolen from or banned unless they violate PaxLair's laws, are considered untrustworthy, or have been declared criminals of the Community."

In the past, we've had court cases for crimes such as thievery. We've also had hearings to review decrees made by our cities. And, we've heard complaints and grievances between individuals.

A means and a place to serve justice is an important aspect of our Statehood and cities.

Thanks for the questions.

Winfield, Governor of PaxLair Statehood
