There are now limits on how I can post that auctions are updated, as well as how many can be running at one time. In order to try and follow the trade rules, I am making some changes:

• Other than the rose auction, I will be limiting auctions to roughly 120 or fewer lots per auction. There will be multiple auctions for some category, such as rubble, rather than just one huge auction.
  
  
• New auctions will be posted as old ones close.
  
  
• All of the auctions will be linked to from this post so they can be easily found. If you want an easy URL to remember, despell.xyz links to this page.
  
  
• I will be posting the rules and boilerplate only here, then linking back to here from each auction.
  
  
• Because I cannot post a "all bids updated" post without breaking the rules, at the top of each auction I will link to the last updated bid's post.
  
  
• As I have a 3-month old to take care of, I may not be available at the end of any particular auction without notice. All auctions will end at the posted date and time. If I am not present when an auction ends, I will close the auction out as soon afterwards as is possible.
  
  
• Any replies to any auction thread by myself which post about my not being able to be present for the end of an auction, which contain any bids by myself, or which answer questions asked by bidders, are intended as solely informational posts, and are not intended to be *bump* posts.

Auction Rules:

Minimum bids/increments (unless otherwise specified at the top of any specific auction):

• Minimum bid: 100k (unless otherwise specified)
• High bid is lower than 2m: minimum 100k increments
• High bid is between 2m and 5m: minimum 500k increments
• High bid is between 5m and 50m: minimum 1m increments
• High bid is between 50m and 100m: minimum 3m increments
• High bid is between 100m and 250m: minimum 5m increments
• High bid is between 250m and 500m: minimum 10m increments
• High bid is above 500m: minimum 25m increments

I reserve the right to make errors interpreting minimum bid increments or any other part of these rules. Resolving such errors is left to my discretion.

Gentlemen's Rule: The bid increments are intended to avoid "+1gp" that lasts all night. They are not intended to cause otherwise well-intentioned bid increases to fail. (Example: 50m raise to 52m, the 52m bid is invalidated due to not being +3m.) Therefore, if there is a case where a bid increase is invalid in this manner, the person with the invalid bid MUST be given notice so that they can correct their bid. Anyone can post that heads up, but notice must be given. Once notice is given, if we are in 10-minute rule, the 10 minutes starts anew from when that notice was posted. If no notice is given, then that bid can be treated as valid. (Ie, 50m > 52m, the 52m would still win.) If notice IS given, and the bid is not fixed, then that bid is invalid. (Ie, 50m > 52m, the 50m bid would win.) In other words, if someone outbids you, but they did not raise the bid enough, you have to tell them; you cannot win simply by waiting for the 10 minutes to end and their bid to be invalidated by default.

Due to the size of these auctions, items will take a day or two to bag up for the winners. I will post below when items are ready for pickup.

For anyone who does not use ICQ or some other instant messaging platform, contact me and I will make arrangements with you - please make sure that you have access to a mailbox somewhere on Atlantic where I can deliver your items.

No private bids will be accepted. All bids must be posted in this thread.

Proxies are permitted; if you need a proxy, please feel free to ICQ me. However, given the size of these auctions, and the number of ICQs I receive daily, if you can bid for yourself, please do. Also, contact me early - for any auction, I stop accepting proxy requests 1 hour before the end of that auction. Important: I will confirm all proxy requests. If you ICQ or PM me to ask for a proxy, and I do not reply confirming it, assume that I did not receive it - please send the request again! I make every effort to post any proxy bids, but I make no guarantees.

Effective starting with auction #43: For any proxy bid which I place, the minimum I will raise per proxy bid is 5m, or higher as required by the minimum increment rules.

Bids are accepted in the order they are placed. Any bids placed which set a specific time, or other condition under which they will become effective, I will treat as a bid without conditions. Any proxies under my control will similarly be entered when my time permits, not on any specific schedule.

For the majority of the items in this auction, I am not the owner, but merely the auctioneer. I reserve the right to bid on any items not my own.

The normal 10 minute rule will apply. The auction for that individual item will continue until ten minutes elapses with no further bids. The timestamp on the forum posts will be the deciding timer.

All reserves are firm. However, you can feel free to post an offer below reserve; at the end of the auction, any such offers will be presented to the sellers for them to accept or decline.

'Range bids' ("lots 10 through 100 - 100k") are definitely encouraged.

No bid retractions will be allowed. Bids must not be edited after they are posted. Anyone caught modifying or retracting bids will face possible consequences including bans from future auctions.

Payment will be accepted only on Atlantic. If you can only pay on another shard, please contact me prior to the end of the auction to see if arrangements can be made. Items will be delivered on Atlantic regardless of where payment occurs. You are expected to pay within one week of the end of any particular auction.

I would love to bid in these auctions but unfortunately it's just too big of a pain to try and figure out what the bids are already, and I'd have no chance towards the end. Honestly Brian I have no idea how you keep up with updating it! (Or how you used to update it I should say)

I sure hope @Captn Norrington gets something worked out soon because I'm sure you are losing lots of bids.

To avoid what seems like it might be turning into an abuse of the proxy service, I am implementing the following rules change starting with auction #43:

For any proxy bid which I place, the minimum I will raise per proxy bid is 5m, or higher as required by the minimum increment rules.

Also, a reminder that anyone can proxy for anyone else, so long as you have the bidder's permission to do so; you don't have to use me for proxy bids.

To clarify that 2,000,000 gp triggers +500k increments, rather than 2,000,001 gp, please note the following change to the rules, effective starting with auction 49:

OLD TEXT: High bid is 2m or lower: minimum 100k increments
NEW TEXT: High bid is lower than 2m: minimum 100k increments
