Hi community.

Im new to UO, saw it on free shards, tried here and there and im thinking of buying official account. But before i do i have a question about Europa community. Are there any specific players/player groups/ or guilds that are willing to put a bit of effort in explaining things to a noob and answering loads of dumb questions?

Also is the game in current state worth the effort of putting money into? Or im going to end up being lonely solo player?

Hi Vulgus

There are normally no problem finding people to assist you
in ultima online. I'd say most of the players are very friendly.

I am myself mostly a solo player, tending to hunt alone
but having said that I started playing more than ten years
ago and I'm still here so thats saying something.
I'd say UO is the game wich offers the most content for
just about any playstyle making sure you will play for a
long time before you're bored (And you will have to have
played for a really long time before you can say
you've "done it all")
Besides, there are many guilds that keep active so you are
guaranteed to find a group that keeps active.

The game has lost a huge amount of players, and I would
argue that the economy is somewhat broken because of
this and the fact that there were a huge amount of cheating
some time ago (Though this has been fixed as far as I am
aware)

I'd say it's worth the monthly fee and it's still the best
(and only(!) proper mmorpg available even if it's become
more and more item based.
I don't think you'll regret playig - atleast not untill it's too
late and the addiction's got you too ;)

Welcome :D

Noob question one then;):

Where is the border between solo/ needing group?

Can highly skilled character solo for example champion spawn?

Welcome to UO and Europa:)

If you follow on chat, there are groups forming there from time to time that everyone is invited to. My advice however would be to learn the game a bit by playing, and asking questions ingame when you get stuck. UO with it`s 12 years of content can be daunting at first. Just remember you don`t need to know everything within a month. Theres still stuff players who have played for longer only now figure out.

Get to know people and check out their guild tags first, and find people you enjoy playing with. Place a house and try out the decorating. Roam around and get a feel for the different places. Die somewhere interesting. UO is a sandbox game so you need to set your own daily game goals. That too can sometimes be daunting. In the end the only one able to answer whether UO is worth paying for is you. So give it a month and decide after that.

If you need help or basic equipment, or just loads of answers seek out HLP guild in New Haven. I think some are still around, and they are always willing to help new players. So are mostly everyone else on the shard as well :)
