we've had about 8 inches so far, but normal season average is 22-24 feet. wonder if they'd like to live here instead?

Yeah, but at least you're somewhat dry out there... down here, it's like living in a sweatsock... only sometimes it gets cooler than others.

Regardless, two of the funniest pictures I've seen this week involve snow (in Copenhagen), so I guess it does have its value.

Glad to be away from the hometown this time of year though. Hills + curves + black ice = SUX for driving... but that's Nashville during this kind of front.

Here in Eastern KY we got heavy rain, then 2 inches of snow, then light rain, and back to snow - I shudder to imagine what conditions are like off of the main roads.

SNOW? What is this you speak of? I live in Texas, and I have seen a few inches of frozen water accumulate on the ground. But? Several feet? Surely you jest? How could you survive? Brrrr....

Take care, and stay warm.

I'm in NC and all I'm getting is loads of rain. The news shows the snow going from the West to the North bypassing Me altogether by a few miles.

Ouch, I think loads of rain is more depressing than snow. You can't make a rainman, or a "rain angel", or have a "rainball fight". If you tried you would just get wet...

And being wet isn't that great...

And well, I think I have way too much time on my hands these days.

North East TN here, It looks cold out....I say looks because I am lucky enough to have today off work, and im not going out to see just how cold it really is :lick:
We have what looks like 2-3 inches this morning, Last night we had to go out and cut a large tree that fell across the main road about 50 feet past the turn off for my drive way.
*Hoping the sun clears the roads off...if it ever comes out*

It's going to be a bit unseasonably warm in Tucson today, around 72 or 73F. Though a bit breezy, so it'll feel a chilly 65 or so.

They are calling our lil snowstorm here in VA a blizzard now... I think the lady of the snow loves us!

Then drive in central Florida. Between the infinitely prolonged people driving (many times AGAINST traffic), the signs and lights being mere suggestions, and all of the "snow birds", it's challenging enough. I couldn't imagine these people dealing with as nowy or icy road.

In fact the most dangerous place I have heard about being in the area I live is to be on a sidewalk in Tampa (a pedestrian (or biker) getting hit by a car is an almost daily news item down here).

All we got was miserable cold rain in SC. I'm jealous of your snow...

I think the year I started playing UO, I got a really good snow. I was holed up for three days, unable to get out of my driveway. I played UO for sooo many hours...

Ever since then whenever it snows I get an incredible urge to hole up and play UO. Of course, now I have other responsibilities, but it's a nice nostalgic thought...

I live due N of Syracuse, NY right on S shore of Lake Ontario. Last Winter I had 10 feet in 24 hours dumped on me and SE part of the county had 13+ in the same time.

Many times it's snow some, thaw a bit, rinse/repeat.

<points to response to Bazer> explained there ... it's the Central NY snowbelt. NE of us (and E of the lake is the Tughill Plateau and the North Country. They get hammered every so often but they're noted more for the bitter cold than the snow.

Several Winters, the Weather Channel has registered my area as having either a) lower January average temp than Nome, Alaska or b) freakish snowfalls like 7-13+ feet in a 24 hour period. <shrug>

Soon as I retire, there will be a household exodus to ANYWHERE where snowfall of inches tosses the locals into a panic.

<snicker> You actually have more ATM than I do and I'm in a major snowbelt in AYankee-land. <grin> Right now, better you tan me I say. My brother and sis-in-law are in Raleigh area and laffing like crazy since they know how to drive in stuff like that.

In Montana some of the most fun we have is when people from Arizona come up to visit and think that they will do the driving.
