Ok so as if you can't tell I play Siege. I have had herding on several of my toons over the years and it is always good for a giggle.
Now what is the difrence between luring and herding on a production shard?
(just in case your not familiar with Siege rules luring is perfectly legal and a valid tactic)
I have some ideas with a RP theme but I don't want to put my account at risk.

Basara care to chime in here? Can I have fun with Herding on a prodo shard without getting paged on?
A gallping horde thru Luna bank or a herd thru fel PVP...
Come on it's a skill for a reason right?

I tried answering right after you posted yesterday, but had my browser crash right as I was getting done.

Typically anything you can do on SP, you can get away with in Fel on a regular-ruleset shard. The other facets are a bit different, especially with the wide range of rules knowledge (or lack thereof) among the current set of GMs. For example, I'm pretty sure that herding a couple dozen unis & ki-rins all the way from Grimswood to some necromancer's doorstep in Luna might be considered griefing - would definitely be considered such if you parked the herd in the guy's house (or the Luna Inn), and left.... For the most part, the logistics of getting a a blue herd somewhere in a trammel ruleset facet is more trouble than it's worth, unless you can take a herd through a moongate (I don't know enough about the skill to know how much you can transport the critters around, other than on foot).

To quote Tony Randall's Gremlin character from Gremlins 2:
Grandpa Fred: [interviewing Brain Gremlin] Creature what is it that you want?
Brain Gremlin: Fred, what we want is, I think, what everyone wants, and what you and your viewers have: civilization....
[a Gremlin with a beanie cap acts goofy next to Brain]
Brain Gremlin: You take a look at this fellow here.
[Brain shoots the Gremlin in the head]
Brain Gremlin: Now, was that civilized? No, clearly not. Fun, but in no sense civilized.

Can't, no. Nor out of dungeons, onto boats when you "jump" to the plank, etc. Most server lines are okay though.

Felucca/PvP is fine.. I've herded successfully at champ spawns for both offensive (rats) & defensive (dragons) purposes. I haven't really used them for blocking in fieldfights, I'm usually too slow to keep up. But yes, perfectly legal.

As for Luna, depends what you herd. Animals are fine, but mares & kirin/unicorns in Malas (trammel ruleset) are illegal. Usually they're guard-whacked anyway.

Basically if you're only raising eyebrows and not raising hell, there's no reason you can't herd through the bank.

i used to enjoy herding 50 or so llamas i had gathered up throughout the lands, and bringing them to the fel yew moongate ... no danger really ... but amusing indeed ... a solid wall of llamas to cause a bit of chaos ... until they are mercilessly slaughtered that is ...

or bringing a herd of angry dragons to wreak havoc on a harry in destard ... always a nice twist on both the offensive and defensive sides ...
