my archery is 70 and cant get my tactics to go past 26..i am trying wrestling with hired 6gp fighter and still no tactics gains..any suggestions? Please..btw i have 0 wrestling

Well... your tactics and whatever weapon skill you have should go up at about the same speed. If you have one that is lower then the other you should gain faster until you catch up.
You may want to check to see if you have your tactics skill set to lose or locked.
Beside this try hunting like orcs and see if you gain. Tactics is a skill that goes up as you use your weapon skill.

Tactics, like your melee skill, only goes up when whatevere you're fighting has tactics in the same general range as your current tactics level (plus/min 20 I've heard). So what you probably want to do is, as GFY said, hunt orcs.
Or spend an hour in Haven shooting zombies and such, that may help too. When your tactics gets within 20 points of your archery, then you should gain normally on both with the usual methods.

Go to haven and buy your skill up to 40 from the tactics trainer and then get yourself 2 +15 tactics jewels and start shooting your golem you will gain in both tact and archery.

Buy your Tactics up to 40 in Haven, then head to Despise. Start with Lizard Men, then move on to the Ettins. When the gains start to slow down, go down a level to the Trolls & Ogres. For some reason those particular creatures are the best I've seen for Tactics gains. You can also skin the Lizard Men for Spined Leather along with having a chance at an artifact drop or 2 while you're there.
