I arranged a sale of an item for a friend of mine which, sadly, occured during the ATL revert. The item that was sold traded hands on another shard and payment was recieved on ATL. Naturally my friend is now out his money's recieved and the item is gone. I had my friend contact the buyer to see if he could replace the money to which he was told the buyer had lost the item due to transfer issues. I understand that some of the transfers have been fixed and the buyer has not contacted my friend to update him with the current events. What would you do in this situation?

This situation has happened to me and many of my friends. I had to issue several refunds, redo deals, and so far everyone has worked together. If this player does not cooperate, you have no real recourse other than to warn others that they may need to be careful while dealing with this player. Unfortunately Stratics doesn not allow you to specifically accuse anyone of anything, you can just say exercise caution when trading in game, and recommend using a trusted broker with a good reputation.

Luckily for me, all of my xfers came in, that had other people's rares on them, and I was able to redeliver then to their owners. However, that is not to say all of my xfers were fixed. I still have a few missing with my own personal items and rares. I have talked to others who have been told that their characters could not be recovered. Maybe time will change that, but I would go with, is the person usually an honorable person? Ruining someone's rep on something they can not help might not be the way to go.
