Help! I am torn between Wammy and Sampire

Both templates have big ups and downs..

I cannot deside.
Wraith:
I like curse weapon (50% life leech)
the resist are easier to deal with
All weapons have mana leech
It's not mana leech, but a DRAIN effect.

I don't like the lack of healing
I don't like not having a mount
Wraiths cannot leech mana or life (curse weapon) off travesty mirrior images, vamp can

Vamp:
Nice constant life drain without casting, but less (20% instead of 50%)
Resist poison
HAS a mount! (swamp dragon)
Vamps can leech life off mirror images (travesty), Wraith CANNOT (curse weapon or mana)

NEEDS mana leech
Does not drain mana
-25 fire resist, I have to use ring of elements (instead of a +8 str, 14 hit, 13 Def, 1 FC 10SDI)

Edit:
Guild note:
Guild members have trouble seeing me in wraith, and without bandaids it's harder to be a true group member (healing)

The question it, what will you use the character for?

I actually alternate forms between wraith and vampire, depending on the situation. Or I did before I found my high mana leech weapon. I've found that when your attacks do little damage no matter what you do, such as when I'm in the Citadel and can't cast EoO due to the number of different things pounding on me at once, it's good to be in wraith form and just spam all kinds of different spells, including the necromancy spells, than to heal a couple hit points per strike in vamp form.

If you're in situations where you want or need need to chug potions (like PvP), then being in vampire form could be a big mistake.

In either case, there are two things you can do. The first is to make a Sampire and try both uses out, and the second is to take the templates over to test center and try them out, just to find which works for you.

Good luck with your choice.

It's mostly for peerless and such.

Both templates are good, but the templates are fairly tight, and will Accutally require 6-7 soul stone swaps (to get skills off and on).

*But I could not solo DF in vamp,
*But can solo it in wraith.. maybe it's because I've just gotten better, or maybe it's the fact I can gain 75 HP in one hit, or total regen my mana, stamia, and HP in one WW attack.

*That is what I love about wraith.. I can be at 10 HP, 5 mana, 17 stamia... get one WW hit off and me at 139 HP, 40 mana, 150 stamina - it's beautiful

*but I LOVE having a mount.. I accutally got mounted on that char a few days ago.. I felt SOOO FAST. I remember when vamps could not mount, if wraiths could mount, it would be easy to deside.

Only pot in PvP you can't drink in vamp is cure, which I never found to be a big issue, and I know a few others that don't have that to be an issue.

Because Confidence... Healing... Life Leech... Level 5 does like 11-15 a tick. And usually people do level 4. I'm not saying it's not an issue.. But can easy be out weighted by a strike for 20-35 and healing 10-18 HP every 1.25-1.5s

I assume your referring to :

While in Vampiric form, the caster receives 17 to 23 damage for each spell cast that requires garlic.

So...

Greater Heal 7 Ginseng - 20-25 Healing
Total Refresh 5 Black Pearl - Full Stamina

Those potions cause no damage. The only potion that uses garlic is Greater Cure, and since you resist lower levels of poison already, thats not much of an issue.

OK, I stand corrected. That being the case, I'd take vampire form every time.

Vampire has the advantage of riding a mount. An armored swampy absorbs a lot of damage.

The biggest disadvantage is the Fire resist. If you can get past that, Vamp warriors are very sustainable in battle.

I have one of each. I like each one for different purposes. I find my Wraith does exceptionally well in Doom. Where my Vamp does very well with overall monster bashing.

For what reason? the fact for poison resist? or something else

[/ QUOTE ]

Personal preference and the fact that I have a really good ornate axe with swing speed increase, damage increase, hit chance increase and mana leech.

Honestly, I do think about switching to wraith form when I want to play with my blade of insanity. Running out of mana annoys me.
