Help! How to raise Strength fast?

Due to a "duh" moment of mine, I accidentally dropped my Str down by about 25 pts before realizing it...

Now, Ive been equipping my toon with an axe, set lumberjack to raise from 0, and I cant get any Str gain hacking at trees, though I do gain skills in LJ.

Is there a cap to the gaining of stats per day? Isnt there an easier way to gain Str?

Pse help!

Are you at your stat cap? If so then turn the arrow down on a stat you don't need and point the strength arrow up and start chopping

For some reason, mining and lumberjacking doesn't give me that much stat gains nowadays.

Right now, combat skills (swords/macing/fencing etc) are fastest for me, but the skill must be set to go up.

If you are a crafter and you don't have the space for the skill points, use the crafting menu to make stuff - lockpicks for tinkers are pretty good, only 1 ingot, doesn't use up the ingot when you fail, and are stackable. Best of all, useful if you have a T-Hunter.

It would help a lot to know what your skills are and what their max is.

Fastest way if the melee skills are at their max would be to just go out and fight, so long as the skills are marked up and the stats are marked in the direction you want them to go.

Otherwise you'll have to see-saw some strength related skills.

Training parry from 0-100 also works if you have 100 extra skill points (very quick to do)

actually, mining did not work for me yesterday when i tried to raise strength on a char, but lumbering did pretty well. must have had something to do, that the char was at 105 mining skill already (with gloves), while lumbering was 0.
the virtual "gains" for a skill with 0 are much more ...

if you have 1 or 2 spare soulstones (or frags), you can raise strength from 50 to 125 in about 2 hours:

if you're at your skill cap dump a skill onto a soulstone temporarily and set mining to raise.

if your mining skill is already > 20, dump that onto a soulstone so it's zero.

buy some shovels from an NPC tinker.

head to your favorite mining spot - i always go to fel brit so i'm within the guard zone but that's just my personal favorite.

start mining. when your mining skill gets to between 20 & 30, recall to an inn or your house and dump it onto an empty soulstone (or frag), then remove the skill from the stone.

set mining skill back to up, recall back to your mining spot and repeat. it takes about 2 hours to raise strength from 50 to 125. sounds like you only need to raise it about 30 points which shouldn't take long at all. i can usually raise it 5 points between recalling to the inn and back.

by dumping the skill onto the stone and then removing it from the stone there's no timer on the soulstone so you can do that over and over and over.

mining is one way... but wrestling deathwatch beetles in tokuno is another too. you can go from about 10 str. to 125 in less than an hour. Like the other poster, you should have some skills to gain in on something. if not stone something and then go start trianing.

i understand this change that made this feature, however, someone should have put a little thought into the change before making it. Gaining some skill to gain in stat sucks. It used to just go up over time. I guess thats EA/Mythics new policy... do anything to hurt the vets.

thanks for that tip BartofCats - I'm going to have to try that. And I agree - stat gain shouldn't be dependent on skill gain. but at least now it's possible to gain up to 115 stat points in an hour or two - I remember when you could only gain 15 a day, that pretty much sucked for different reasons.
