I want to buy a Helm Of Insight...but not sure about something. Does it stop meditation or slow it down at all?

Well not if your warrior is going to use the "Meditate" skill no...

I have never used the helm of insight due to the low resists but I do use a lot of MR and MLC armor without any real mana problems.

As others have said, it's not med-able. Thus, like all non-med armour, will stop active meditation and also slow down passive meditation.

Base speed factor = (Meditation * 3) + Intelligence.
At GM Meditation or higher a 10% bonus is added to the base speed factor.
If you are wearing armor that you cannot meditate in, then the base speed factor becomes 0 (zero).

However, if you are already wearing another piece of non-medable armour, then I guess there's no harm.

The Helm of Insight is meant for Warriors rather than Mages. A warrior can completely compensate for Med using Mana Regen Armor or by have Hit Mana Leech on a weapon.

Exactly I used to use this on my archer all the time very good piece until you can make or get a custom piece that is better or like me I use brightsight lenses mostly !

It used to be a fairly hot commodity... not so much anymore w/other arties/craftables.

It's not a bad starter piece, even w/crappy resists. Seeing as how you can buy non-cursed ones for a couple hundred thousand, if not cheaper.

The Aegis of Grace comes in two flavours :

the more common big horned variety
and the headband-circlet type

As far as I'm aware the helmet is non-medable, but is the circlet?!

Yes, it can also be runic crafted. Very nice way to use up those dull copper hammers to make 20 lrc pieces

Helm of Insight displays as a blue winged elf helm when on an elf, doesn't alter the actual properties of the item in any way.

The circlet version of the 'aegis of grace' is not race-specific, humans can wear it.
