horse would spawn, he would B line to it, tame, rename the same name, then release and kill it.

watched him (right beside him) for a while while i was checking my pets in stable to see if any needed to go do some training.

then finally i beat him to taming the horse and set it to follow him and i left to go hunting for a couple hours.

returns and smelts on beetle and stores in a pack on his stairs

since i have been watching he has amassed over 400k in stones, weight of ingots, his pack has over 6million stones

he is scripting as it is timed perfectly

i watch and page and occassionally kill him with my 40skill mage!!!!!!! takes 20 fireballs to kill him.


of course if he was there he would, talk, fight, run away etc

he did set a red on me once

i have not seen him for nearly 24 hrs so just maybe a GM watched as i asked and he has GONE................................

it took me 9 months to train my tamer on the old 3d client, i had to go to the RAA shop/library in europa to read the book left to show what animals to train at what skill level

without doubt the Bulls at 90+ were the most boring ever, swampies were nice after 100 as i barded and sold them at WBB, in the days when europa was full

i remember my char Whisperer and 2 others Celle and Mod were there selling our animals i made my first million that way, and it was a real pleasure

so yes i get ANGRY when i read about 2d scripters training while they are, having a cr*p, out on the p*ss or at work, or whatever they do


i must say i would love to volunteer to be a GM assistant, i will find the culprits and pas sover the EVIDENCE to a full GM for them to deal

my latest scripter i am having "fun" with is so obvious its untrue, but like all others, who cares if they are obvious, who is going to do something about it???

Hell I got on both my systems and duel paged on side by side scripters. One jacking the other mining. They had premarked a rune where stairs should be then placed a house.Removed the stairs over the recall location so they could recall in the nonpublic area of the house. Aviod the spawn about. They also had the auto log if a player showed up. (Many fun days of auto logging, don't mess with a retire thats on all day). Got a load of stealth training in on two characters.

Got the constant canned messages untill I got threats from the GMs about banning my account. Once got a GM to talk a bit and school him on reconizing the script and the timer count. My chihuahua does a better job showing interest. Then back to the threats to ban my account. This went on for 13 days and I took over for a friend that was at it for 9 days prior.

Oh and I had to stop only because those houses are now FLAMED RUBBLE. They let the scripting bear in the UO house and really don't care where he craps in it, as long as he pays rent.

Well if they didn't want to train, advanced char tokens cost about 8 mil these days and just add items. There's no excuse to cheat in UO. If you think skill training is too hard, take the token/items route, pick another template or play an easier game.

I'm sure you were posting here about how you'd been suspended for cheating on taming gains recently too... Not a surprise to hear you're pro skill scripting I guess. What a pity the GMs don't agree with you. And that some players don't agree with you either, and will contact said GMs. The easiest solution would be if players stopped cheating, then nobody would have to page in the first place...

Easy would be to get rid of one Code Mage and house and feed 7 homeless people. Show them the UO ins and outs like how we as players can reconize a scripter. Give them the power to look and observe a players backpack. Move about unseen and tag along with a player. Enter houses to see what hidden BS is coming from the house to mark as a watch. Play the container block and watch the character go into the 30 minutes of recall casting. Observe player active areas like a Harry or any other hot spot of the day. Follow through on a scripter and find the account that profits from the junk account.

Then give them the avatar of an undead begger thief. They can rollplay in investigating those in question. Ask the miner for a shovel that he can sell for some food. Theese stand out avatars can have place among players. They when seen can be handed a rune and a meatpie and give just a THX back in return. This will allow the GM to have time to show face while removing a cow from someones roof.

I didn't say ban once. Its all about the dollars. Put a stockade on the inner wall by Luna Gate. View to heavy traffic. Those found guilty of something when logging on the character find themselves in some torture device. This can go on for a few months and when done they can think "I'd been GM by now if I wasn't lazy!" An accounts house can be fenced in and become a player bann zone for time that fits the crime. Maybe even that accounts bank boxes are put on hold. Full reports on the serious stuff found can then be brought up to the banned lvl by the powers that be.

the way I see it...working a skill actively allows you the opportunity to grow into a template. scripting skips the whole learning curve, and sends you straight into "ooOoOoOoOoOo" mode. noob.

youd also think that if i cheated that much i would have been caught or banned by this time, like its been 11 years allready, sheeesh!

ya know ive said this before and ill say it again.
i dont care if people wanna cheat or run 3rd party progy's
but i DO think that they should play risk vs reward.
meaning that if your gonna cheat and do it unattended, then do it in fel.

that way if someone stumbles upon you they have the option to kill you and get the insurance off you if they want too.

on a side note, i was on Cat's a while back and that shard is (or was) overrun with recall miners.

i popped 4 at one spot in like 5 minutes.
funny thing was one fella actually gave me a count.
which i dont care about, but i thought it was rather rude of him to do, considering that i could have just reported him and been on my way.

anyways, karma is a pancake, cause i ended up killing the fella again the next day and he actually came back to his comp while i was waiting for more recall miners.
of course the smack talk started.
where the karma came in is 2 days later i popped him again for about the 10th time and this time he ran out of insurance.

so needless to say my simple little fledgling mage is now sporting a really nice LRC suit, with totem of the void and everything, all compliments of the recall miner.

some times UO makes ya smile.
other times it makes ya laugh your ass off.

I worked my taming from 0-115 manually. No scripting, no cheating...so sometimes it does tick me off a little when I see people cheating and scripting taming.

But then again, if you consider the overall impact of it...what difference does it make?

You have a tamer with skill they didn't earn vs. a player using an advanced character token + skill items, which is a tamer with skill they also didn't earn.

So what's the difference? Besides one being against the rules and one not?

In the end, the result is the same.

I trained it up until I could ring up to start taming my pets to keep (nightmares, rune beetles, cu's, dragons....), and by taming/killing I got my skill upto 118.3 when I finally got the stats in the pets i wanted.

You are aware how irrelevant "working" the taming skill really is when to comes to actually playing a tamer, both in taming the best pets (most of which have an anger cycle) and in actually using said pets to fight monsters, right?




I, personally, have never macrod taming unattended. That said... If I didn't feel the risk was as high as I believe it to be (even though people have such trouble reporting others to any lasting effect) I might use it myself.

Look, I've worked a tamer up to the mid 100s. Its a grind. Its boring. ITS INCREDIBLY BORING. And its horrible doing that all over again - just getting my tamer from 50 to 79 has been horrendous and makes me never want to finish that ****ing character, because its HOURS and HOURS of horrendously boring work. If I ever finish (or come even close to finishing) this other tamer, that WILL be the last. I swear, every tamer I do pushes arthritis in my hands closer by a few years.

Its no skin off my teeth if another player got to 120 taming by macroing for a week unattended, or if they spent the last 6 months mostly on another shard but working ggs every day, or if they lost the use of their fingers for a month because they did it by hand.

At the very least, I'm not vindictive enough to harass another person's character because of it.

What do you consider the best pets? The one's that take the highest difficulty to tame and control? Greater Dragons? Cu Sidhe? I'll tell you now neither is a really good pet they both have serious down sides.......

A Kitsune and a Rune Beetle will out preform both of them in most situations. And neither requires GM Taming.

I wasn't going to add anything at first and don't get me wrong, I don't mind everyone's opinion on this matter, because there won't be any real consensus (sp?) on it. Now most ppl who think this is wrong will more than likely post and the ones that do script will not in fear of being attacked by a mob and be labeled as a "cheater".

Now onto my true point. After reading these posts, I thought about it and came to a realization that it isn't a reflection of who we are outside of the computer, because I believe that most, not all, of the ppl that post "cheat" at one game or another. Heck, I bought guitar hero world tour for my kids and we looked up the code to unlock all the songs.

Now by some of your accusations, that is considered cheating, but I don't think it is. Yeah, I didn't wanna work to unlock all the songs, but that doesn't speak ANYTHING about who I am. I am a single father working and going to school in the medical field. To me, it was just a game, just like this is. The only difference is and I mean the ONLY difference is how each of us view it as. To some it's important, it's a reflection of hard work and dedication and to others, it's just a way to pass the time, and to even others, it's just a way to better themselves at pvp. The list goes on.

I think the biggest problem is that someone is getting to a place in the game where others have worked so hard to get, but the thing everyone needs to keep in mind is that this is a game. Nothing more. It's an outlet to another world that I think some ppl grey the lines sometimes. You worked for what you have and you should be proud. Others took a shorter way to accomplish the same goal, but like home video games, they're playing it for the excitement of certain experiences, whereas most ppl here play it for a fullfillment of accomplishment, neither of which are really "wrong". Wrong is whatever the creators of the game deem as so, and they have set series punishments for it. So, if these players want to possibly get their accounts banned, what does that have to do with any of us? Drive prices down? Just makes the reward of making money so much better for those that enjoy the fullfillment aspect of it.

The bottom line is that none of us will have to answer for macroing up a tamer when we meet our maker.
