It was a sunny fall day, a cool breeze from the sea seemed to kissed the shores lovingly as the waves gently lapped the shores. The seagulls glided along the shores searching for tasty morsels left behind, one or two swooping down into the dark waters as if playing catch with the fish. The day was calm, the world content. Looking out toward the western horizon where the skies meet the sea shadows loomed barely visible as the day's light dimmed. A storm was coming the silence that preceded it you could almost taste on the tip of your tongue.
Twilight had come without a sound the gentle sea rolled back and forth upon the shores. The night skies twinkled with diamonds as a mist covered all. In the distance the sounds of dolphins could be heard as they played their games upon the seas. The moon shone bright upon the skies like a golden coin on black velvet cloth and in it's wake upon the seas the shadows that had loomed in the distance could now be seen. The silence was shattered as the battle began between the invading pirate and merchant ships.
The ships were magnificent something never seen upon these lands, huge massive sails waving in the breeze and cannons mounted on either side. Where they came from no one did know, yet there presence had been foretold. The battle raged on between the merchant and pirate ships upon the
waves of the dark sea. Flames engulfing either ship, screams of anger, pain and rivalry. Blood that once spilled upon the lands now flowed freely upon the seas. A new begining to the day showed the destruction that had been portrayed, in the darkness on the high seas not long before. The merchant ship lay in waste half hidden below the waters rim, scattered derbis upon the seas. The smell of death, the scent of gunpowder loomed everywhere and as the fog cleared there stood the pirate ship still.
The battle had come and gone the spoils of war were now gathered up. The silence now returned. Men scurried about their work with jubilee of victory. Orders were given to bury the dead upon the sea as the pirate ship set sail once more. Beware sea faring folks the seas once safe were safe no more. Ship set sail toward the horizon as the eerie laughter filled the breeze, then the booming voice was heard. "Man the cannons Maties! Prepare for Battle once more! Heave Ho! Heave Ho!"
