Heartwood (wood) Broken?

I've on occasion used heartwood to enhance hoping for velocity. Many times I've gotten nothing but I figured maybe it was a duplicate mod. Today I decided to use heartwood on a juka bow (figuring to make a velocity/juka slayer set out of boredom). I enhanced, and got nada as a mod, is nothing one of the mods for heartwood? If it is it seems to be more common than any other of the random mods. I decided to make 9 bows out of heartwood to see what I'd get (and then donate my 10 bows to the heartwood fletchers). Counting my Juka, I got 6 with no mods, 2 with 40 luck, 1 with 10 ssi, and 1 with 20% LR. So it would seem that nothing is by far the most common heartwood "mod". I guess I can't complain too much since wood is much more useful for enhancing than metals but still kinda sucks having a wood that more often than not does nothing.

Ok first off you can't enhance Juka bows. They are old school (pre AOS?) and can't be modified.

Second are you using a runic fletching kit to make these bows? You need to use runic kits to have mods on your bows. You can enhance a non arty or non recipe bow with wood to add that woods propperties.

I use heartwood on woodland peices to get the chance 5% hci or the 10 dmg, out of the ones which do enhance i get these mods about 1/10, and considering only about 1/5 makes it through enhancing about 1/50 pieces gets the hci or di I'm aiming for, so in general, heartwood can give u good mods but its very hard to get them!

I'm talking about enhancing with Heartwood. You enhance with Ash you get 10 SSI and 20%LR every time, Frostwood you get 40% cold and 12 DI every time. Now Heartwood is supposed to add a random mod, my beef is that half the time you get nothing, not a mod I didn't want, but no mod at all. If say half the time you enhanced a bow with Ash for the 10 SSI you got nothing, wouldn't you think something was wrong?

And Lilac is correct, you can modify Juka bows, I have a near full set of Ash enhanced Juka Bows (just to make my set a little different from other collectors).

Eh, it really doesn't matter either way. Fletching tools don't use up "uses" when enhancing, only when crafting, so one is as good as the other. It doesn't change anything either way. I use an Oak runic with 1 use left myself, but only because self delusion is a wonderful thing.
