Having trouble planning one of them fancy Heartwood suits.

I can't seem to be able to get LMC and MI on, while still having the +25 str/+30 dex, 25HPI, 30SI, 15-20 SSI, 45 DCI/45 HCI, 60 DI (without weapon), and all 65+ resists.

I've managed to get 25 LMC on at the cost of 5 DCI (dropping me to 40), and I should be able to get a good 15 or so MI on in addition to that. I guess that may have to be good enough, I'm already going to be working on this suit forever due to the enhance rate and the random property.

What I have planned right now (in Excel so resists may end up a bit lower), looks something like:

79/75/68/75/74 (after VE, before corpse skin)
25 HPI
33 SI
21 MI
25 LMC
40 DCI
50 HCI (with Conjurer's Trinket, 40 without)
20 SSI (no weapon)
60 DI (no weapon)
26 Strength
30 Dexterity

Honestly I'm not sure if I should bother, right now I've got 70/70/68/70/71, 25HPI, 33 SI, 12 MI, 45 DCI/40 HCI (with Trinket), 60 DI, 40 LMC, 5 SSI, 25 Strength, 23 Dex. Not bad, but I dunno.

I don't have any LMC on my sampire suits and have never seen a issue with it. A guild mate does have a LMC suit for his guy, not heartwood, and I, personally, don't see much of a advantage. Yes he can do AI's back to back while in wraith form(I don't know if I can as I just stay in vamp) but he seems to die more often if his curse weap messes up.

I'd spend more time burning through dull copper hammers trying to get perfect weapons for specific spawn(s)/monsters over spending time trying to make the perfect samp suit. I have found it is my personal selection of cold/fire ect weapons that have added the greatest level of benifit to my temp and most of my guildmates now think the same way.

I'm still trying to make a 100% fire ornate to use for corgul...I think that will make the soloing all the easier, I hope.

Custom weaps go a huge way towards making things fall at your feet.

Thunderz is one of the resident heartwood pros, try to get his attn. It's not clear what your purpose is tho, is this for PVP or PVM.

Imho it really depends on playstyle if you want 40 lmc or not.
One extreme is going for the heavy hitting axe weapons and run always with anat + tactics. Then you get away with little to no lmc as you tend to hit for alot. Needs little mana at all.
Other extreme is running fencing, and resist instead of anat. Then you deal less damage because of the available weapons and you need to resort to feint spam sometimes. Then some lmc is very handy. Plus here is, its near impossible to drop swingspeed from cap. Other nice thing is, if you run with anat, you can chain ai from a leafblade or double strikes from a cheap double bladed staff like crazy.
I also see sometimes a local sampire that seems to prefere curse weapon + bokuto. Needs 40 lmc as well because of very low damage. And no, he is not incompetent.

Ofc there is alot of gray zone in between, and with imbuing you really can run the char as you want.

Just stating "i never need any lmc" is as wrong as "you need 40 as a requirement" if people do not tell how they play.

I'm planning on PvM. My template, not entirely sure yet.

120 weapon skill
120 bushido
120 parry (60 parry)
100 anatomy
100 tactics
99 necromancy
61 chivalry
(60 spirit speak)

I'm running the parry/SS split right now, I like it, with 40 LMC at least. Still get the full mana reduction in special moves, and I get the extra 50% life leech when needed.

I have all 3 melee skills on soulstones at 120, so I plan on swapping back and forth as needed.

Right now I'm leaning toward going with the Heartwood suit just because of the extra swing speed, slight increase in stats, and the extra HCI. But I'm not sure yet, I may keep working on a plan to see if I can improve it.

I ask myself one question when determining if I need to use a mod slot for LMC.

Am I going to try to spam Armor Ignores?

If yes - put LMC.

If no - forget about it.

As far as using weps with certain damage types, doesn't consecrate wep automatically make the weapon like that?

Consecrate isn't always ideal, and is very short in duration - but yes that is what consecrate does.

I agree with Lynk on the LMC. If you are just going to LS and do occassional specials (i.e. Feint) then you would do better with mana increase than LMC on the suit. If you are going to try to chain AIs, then absolutelty you need 40 LMC.

I run all my sampires on my primary shards with 40 LMC, but I am an AI addict. War Axe ftw in my book. I put my diamond mace away and only use blackstaffs and war axes on my macer sampire.

It only lasts a little while, you have to farm karma to use it, and you can be mana vamped or out of mana. Spending the extra time with dc runic hammers will give you super nice weaps designed to kill certain bosses or minions (spawn). You have to make multiple different weaps anyway if you use slayers, might as well make them elemental and take the advantages it brings.

Yeah I'm gonna need to do that soon. At least the karma isn't a problem if you don't use curse weapon. I've gotten to well over 20k karma, recently even.

True. I need to buy some hammers then and have someone burn them for me :)
