I am so sick and tired of the negative changes to the game that i cannot even bring myself to play it.

I feel as if any effort on my part to make money or skill is wasted effort if things do not change for the better in this game. It makes me almost physically ill to think of the time and money i have wasted on this game so far only to have it become something i do not even want to play.

I keep my accounts open in hopes that things will take a turn for the better. And even that is making me sick, spending money to pay for something that is not currently something i want to even play.

I would like a poll on how many people are SERIOUSLY close to just canceling their accounts, not just saying it out of frustration or whatever, but seriously considering it.

well i haven't been playing either, but continue to pay in hopes of changes. My suggestion is not to come here and read the boards either..lol Because everytime I come here i really want to cancel. Ive been playing another game, that i totally love, and it is free. So I guess thats how i justify not quitting here. Silly really as I would pay double to play this other game! We will see how long I continue to waste my money. I just have high hopes as I this game has great memories.

Actually I went through that phase for a couple weeks lately, just recently got out of it. lol.

Of course as for my account, I've been paying for 5 years, no point in stopping now. All my friends stopped playing, some cancelled lately, kind of sad...but I won't actually cancel my main account probably ever. lol.

You are one of the Bot-Type players (sorry to call you that)

Try something else, like Role-Playing, not just money and skilling.

what kind of house do you have in ea land? I have a fun idea for a house that might make the game playable again for a bit. I have been brainstorming in my almost asleep haze, lol
Send me a message if you are willing to give it a try with me. Maybe one last effort to make some fun in the game. Anyone else who has had it and needs something new give me a message maybe we can get a house together as a team.

I agree with the others who said if you are teetering on the edge of quitting do NOT read the boards.....the negativity here will push you over the edge faster than the game does.

As far as your 'simmy fix' you do have TS2, don't you? That's what I would play if you are burnt out on current game mechanics but want to play a game that is similar. Hubby has been playing it alot at night during his playing time, and last night had his first set of naturally born twins into the game...before when we wanted twins we forced the issue through the cheesecake or 'forcetwins', but this time he decided he just wanted the mom to have one baby since other stuff was going on.....and WHAM "You have 2 family members about to be born!" or whatever the pop-up says when the mom is in labor and the game is generating the infant(s). I want the newest EP to the game for my birthday in June if we don't get it before then. We want the Prima guide to Seasons before we get the next EP, so I dunno if we'll get both before June or not.

Anyway, that'd be a good way to get your simmy fix, to not play the game when you're in burn out, AND to not hit that cancel subscription button.

I have been so close to hitting that button, then hubby talks me out of it. When he is close I end up talking him out of it. Hope we don't both hit the same mood on the same day, cause we will cancel for sure.

All the changes in the game I see as positive. The old mundane never changing in the game before was boring to me. I have just come back from a year of not playing, but I never stopped paying. The pay off in that is I got my original sims with all their holding capacity, locks and anniversary gifts.

I cancelled yesterday in disgust and then changed it back this morning after some time to think about it. I don't really care what the peanut gallery thinks about how I conduct my business but I look at EAL as an investment in fun. If the game is going in a negative direction there has to be a line where you cut your losses and run. It's no different than any other business decision. Hanging out for hope is like throwing darts at the Wall Street Journal versus analyzing the situation for what it is and trying to make the smartest move.

I figured I would go free and just see how things pan out and save a few bucks if I don't come back, but something(one) pulled me back

I went from seven accounts down to one a few months back, when they lowered the payouts the 1st time on code.
I just recently cancelled my last account which still has a few days left on it.
I'll play free in TC3 for a while in hope that the devs get their act together.
So far the negatives in this game are far out weighing the positives.
Even when something positive comes through, there are almost always negatives come with it.
I think that almost everyone that is still here is just staying in hope.
And a few others that if were on the Titanic would be shouting out as ship goes under "Don't worry people, the devs said this ship is unsinkable".

There are some issues with the game right now but there are also many positives. I try to look at the positive game changes and just keep playing

I have a money house, a skill house and a house that is currently set to a store but im not real sure what i will do with it, not that there is a lot of money out there to make many changes with.

And yes i have sims 1 and 2 with all of the expansions. I want the making magic options on ealand, like how i would sooo love to turn some people into toads lol.

I haven't seriously played in a few days. I hopped in once for a little bit to see how jamming would go, but got bored as all hell because most of my friends are also not playing for now. I've been checking out Second Life in the meantime and enjoying myself more ... for free ... I'm still waiting it out. I may play occasionally. But my days of constant simming I think are over. If I'm not liking things better by the summer, I'm hitting that cancel button.

I'm the opposite. I started another account

I've had loads of fun the last few days in the game!
I guess mostly because my store is taking off now and lots of fun people come there, I've made really good new stuff that is selling well, we're rebuilding a little bit and that sort of thing.

Loving it

I think it will get even better in time. Love the fact that they are improving it so much and making more and more nice features for us.

I'm thinking about cancelling and just playing my two accounts as free but I think I'll wait a few more months even if I'm not playing. Summer is coming and I hardly play then anyway. I would hate to see people cancel their paying subcription and then have EA come out with something special or whatnot just for those people during amnesty. So I'm waiting. For now I'll keep up with the boards and go in when there is something special or new going on.

Just curious if you started another account how you funded your store to get it up and running and how much did it take you?

I've been a frequent guest at PlayJam Mansion for a few weeks... lol

I'm still poor (sometimes I pay more to the repair man and in food for my guests than I make in the store, there is still not a huge customer base) but now I can at least afford to buy stuff if someone wants to order things.

Seriously people, this game is only as fun as you make it.
I find it a challenge that it's hard to make money. Up to a point I think it's just fun.

I find I play less and less every day. I'm seriously thinking of totally leaving the game. I wouldnt have left TSO, but this is not TSO, now is it.
With all the Economic BS and the limits they have set I'm finding my self drifting further and further away from the game. I was a TSO founder I started playing October 2002. In all the "Improvements" they add they are losing tso totally and the new game just isn't fun. I did take a break and wait for improvements and I came back with a possitive outlook thinking it would be so great.

But no its not great in fact its harder work and more stress then my daytime job. I never wanted to play a game that wasnt "play" but "work".

I'm giving it til amnesty and if nothing better comes I'll be cancelling all 4 of my accounts. I've had a lot of fun playing TSO and met lots of people and I will miss them but I have enough rl stress that this is unacceptable

*hugs to all Tso players who have stuck it out this long*

Eh I rarely log on anymore just because there's nothing I want to do. At one point, I think I took this game way too seriously and never thought I would get tired of it.

But now, its not even interesting or fun anymore to me. I dont know what happened.
