Has anyone found conveniency in using Magic Fish Pies ?

They are quite expensive to make and time consuming, definately way more effort and cost than greater potions.... so, my question is, are they really worth the trouble for a small 5 minutes buff with a considerable downtime AND, most importantly, the limit that only 1 pie can be eaten at a time (they do not stack) and that if one is full -which happens pretty much always for a dexer who needs stamina-, the pie cannot be eaten.....

Good question, I'd also like to know who uses them... I'll hang around and see the responses...

I use the pie's :) not so much on my warrior thou.
I use the Mana regen ones, when i can find them for sale, unless they are too expencive. (When i find them for 5..10k i buy them)

I've been wondering the same things about the newish monster stealables. Seems to me that the time taken to get one of them is way out of whack with their usefulness.

I decided it might be cool to give them a try, so I trained up stealing, and then stoned it onto my Meleer in place of resist, and with jewels I've got 120 stealing. I thought the long life of these things would be useful. Problem is that you can only use 1 at a time, and they only last for 30 minutes, but to get any 1 specific of them can take >30 minutes.

Same for these pies, if the rate of pulling any 1 specific fish is > 5 minutes per pull (and I suspect it is) then its a net losing scenario.

In either case though, I suspect the real utility comes from PvP, not PvM.

Well, not unless you're a scripter with a nice fishing script I suppose...

I came to the same conclusion this weekend with the stealable monster items. Just not worth the trouble.

The number of scenarios where having 1 more MR, or 1 more SR will make the difference between life and death are probably pretty small. Now if those fish pies would let you OVERCAP something, that might be worth thinking about... having 53% defence chance, or hit chance could for sure make a measurable difference in PVP...

If they allowed overcapping, then it might be worth it.

Or, if they set it up so that it had like a 10 minute duration and at the end of the duration it automatically ate another if you had one in your pack... that might be something to consider.

What does "soak" damage mean? I saw that and, assumed it meant "eater". But I don't really have an explanation why I felt that.

It lets you get less damage in the damage type you choose. But for me it looks like its only 3 points instead of 5.

So, lets say I'm wielding some AI weapon with 100% phy, and you eat the pie that soaks physical damage. You'll only take 32, instead of 35 damage when I land an AI?
