Where/How do you guys harvest Greater Dragons? I don't usually hunt in groups so I'm looking for Solo-able encounters. Need to get me a 4+Star baddie. Any pointers?

What I like to do is use my stealth herding lorist to wind. I lure all the other spawn (demon drake dragon) up the path to the north east and then simply herd the GDs to the guards if they are not worthy of taming.

Alternatively my tamer is a fallen paladin(also just enough magery 74 to enter with skill+items (chiv necro sword parry) and can kill greaters just a quick as my herder can herd them. That way I make some gold hides and lots of gems for my time.

I have a tamer with peacemaking that does the deed when I find one worthy of taming. I click my knife then on the dragon from a distance. When the dragon is on last target I use my macro for tame last once. If I anger the beast area peace. Rinse and repeat untill I get the messages I start taming the creature and precast invisi until argo.

SHHH super secret!

Man those secrets I hated giving up!

Thanks for the tips 5%. I shall go put some magery on my tamer and head to Wind. Haven't been there in at least 8years.

Wind just like 5%

use guard zone to weed them out, but have honor to tame the one you like

I use the Fire Temple, just drag outside of temple and start your taming.

Can use honor thyself to go tame 1 that you cant drag outside, as soon as tamed recall someplace safe and log out to pull GD out safely as other spawn will attack it once tamed

Aye, fire temple is nice and controllable. When I got a greater there I'd pull the normal dragon and drakes to one side and leave the greater to spawn on its own. Then I'd work the spawn from there. Any keeper can be taken out into the jungle.

You might wanna locate the nearest wandering healer before you start...my first attempts were a screen from the healer... it proved quite convenient :D

I plain-ol' peace-tame them. 120 peace/120 music with jewels.

I like to do this in the clearing south of the Daemon Temple on the Isle of Fire, but I've done it in Destard as well (preferably away from spawn).

I have an area-peace macro set (ie. use peace skill on yourself).

Find a dragon and area-peace near it. Walk up to the dragon and when the music stops (ie. your skill timer resets), start spamming your tame macro. You'll get 5-10 hits in (mostly failures). As soon as the dragon takes a step towards you, hit the area peace macro again.

Regroup and retry.

Once you get a successful attempt, you'll lead-tame the dragon, walking forward while he angrily follows you. In the time it takes to either succeed or fail at the tame attempt, you'll usually take 1 fire breath. (G-drags do 100% physical damage so make sure your armor suit is maxed out on phys resist). If you fail, immediately hit the area peace key. Heal up if necessary and start again.

If you succeed, voila

It took me about a week of dying to get the timing of the macro's down, but now that I have it, it's fairly easy and I rarely die. If you get into a situation where the dragon is pounding on you, just area peace and run away.

Area peace gives just enough time to get into position and hit macros. It's not a long peace like directly peacing a creature, but direct peace often fails on high level monsters like g-drags. Having a dragon slayer instrument helps.

I like this way because I don't need to worry about honor points or really anything... it's all skill based. And there's a little bit of adrenaline involved to keep it interesting.

I use the wind guard wacking to get greaters, It can take a long time but I've pulled some really nice ones doing this. It's nice to have one at a time plus you guardwack them so you constantly spawn new ones. It took me 4 days to get a 3.9 dragon on Atl doing this, but I have gotten several around 4.0 on chessy with this method also. Just be patient and know what your looking for, when you get it beat it down in the hallways ( e field him out he will be stuck), then when he's low on life go for the tame. This way assures the dragon is slow and not spitting a 60 point fireball. Becarful getting it too low on life because they will fly away and that gets annoying. I would say take a good 75-80 % of its life away. Also from time to time the dragons will spawn in unreachable locations, so you just invis nearby and it will move eventually.
