After fighting for a while tonight I've noticed that peoples harms are hitting me for 19-22 hit points per harm while magic arrow is still just doing around 6hp per hit. I am 70 energy and the same with fire..(all 70s suit). Any ideas on why harm is dealing so much per hit?

Oh for the record this is without being cursed or any debuffs.

For the record, Harm deals cold damage, but since your suit is all 70s that cannot be the issue.
As far as I know Harm shouldn't even beaffected by SDI, so I have no idea how it could deal so much damage...
How much damage do you get if you cast Harm on yourself?

I could be wrong, but it seems I remember something a while back about "harm" damage being affected by the distance between the caster and the target. Closer to target = more damage. Could this account for it (or part of it)?

Yep The closer you are the more damage plus the SDI and inscription bonus not to mention the bonus for high int. So a scribe mage can still pack a punch.

With 125 int, 25% sdi including inscribe bonus, standing right next to your opponent, this is very possible. You may have been cursed also lowering your resist to 60.

Harm is a spell of choice for a mage vs a dexxer. Fast spell with a decent punch to someone standing next to you.
