Hardest Shard to Champ?

I'm constantly whining about how shard transfer tokens and shard shields ruin pvp on my shard as people just import 120 scrolls from 'dead' shards or just get them in trammel and bind.

However when we eyes on a champ the other night, one conversation overheard from the blues was summed up with "lets try another shard"

This got me thinking, these guys came from another shard and landed in mine, perhaps people get raided doing champs on other shards also? And that really it's the time of day/night that influences how easy it is to do a Champ undisturbed.

My question is, do people get raided on dead shards too?

I wouldn't look at it in those terms. I would look at it in the terms of what is the probability of being raided.

it's different, and yes you have a much better shot of rolling a despise say on Sonoma than you would on atl...

Funny thing about champs..... sometimes you get raided sometimes you don't... Sometimes that's the fun of doing a champ...

However more often than not you can't muster enough people to defend a champ or if you can... and you don't get raided then most who come are bored stiff... So the next time you go to do one... no one wants to go... then you get raided and your all alone.... now one on 12 isn't much fun. I always say it's no fun for the the 12 either cause you saw one guy he's dead in less than a second and you many or more likely not got a hit off on the poor SoB and now you are once again left with nothing to do.

Second annoying thing is those who do the spawns horde the scrolls... they don't sell enough of them, the ones you want are never available... either because people are too busy hording them so they can keep the prices outrageous or no one completes the spawns so there aren't enough good scrolls to go around and be put on vendors...

Then people won't sell the 10's or 15's because they don't like other people binding them to make 20's... so even if you would like a 10 or 15 and that would be fine and all you need you can't buy one. Again see Hording. (I myself am guilty of Hording as anyone who really knows me knows)... So there you have it... people seek quieter shards so they can do the spawns solo because they either can't do a spawn on their shard without getting raided by Zerg guilds... or no one on their shard wants to do spawns anymore.... or there simply isn't enough scrolls on their own shard to get what they need and are forced to go somewhere else...

And contrary to popular opinion many players don't have 100's of millions of gold... some only have 50 or less so buying scrolls at 10 to 20 million seems an impossibility... And some folk *gasps* don't sell things in-game... they try to be "Self-Sufficient".

Yep, you hit the nail on the head there Mal....

Merv, as a Europa player(My home shard) I now do a Solo ricktor spawn every single day of the week and some times twice a day on a dead shard (Origin). I use my shard shields not to return the scrolls to sell on Europa, but i take my scrolls over to Atlantic and them transfer the gold back to europa or other items i can sell on Europa.

But yeah some times I do get raided, the last few times its only been 1 person trying to raid me and 1v1 theres not a lot they can do 1v1. But other times its been 3-4 people raid me and to be fair, its breaks the boredom.

As a said note i would say that they (Devs) have Nerfed the amount of 120 scrolls that drop from a champ. You are now lucky to get one drop out of 12 scrolls. It looks as though they want to force people to bind the 110 and 115 to make a 120 scroll these days

Over the years I've been a part of every kind of group--big PvP guilds, small PvP guilds, solo PvM (doing a spawn myself), small PvM guilds, big PvM guilds, cross-sharding PvM guilds--and the problem with most PvM guilds is they really have no idea how to PvP. So if they aren't a big PvM guild that's ready to learn PvP, or if they don't have any kind of support, it's not a matter of whether or not they get raided by X amount of players, it's the fact they can't handle a one player raid and will feel sore as a result.

For example, my PvM guild on Ches would constantly get raided by Slimer, and his dismount/DP shurikens would, one by one, take us out, as he stealthed away using smoke bombs. I taught my guildmates to drop poison fields, and things like that, but the majority of them had fundamental template issues, like having 0% hit evasion due to a lack of a mage weapon or wrestling, or a lack of high end items, such as DCI capped pieces of armor. Those issues can be fixed--and were to an extent--but the divide is too extreme. As the old adage goes, the worst PvPer in Fel is better than the best PvPer in Trammel.

From my understanding, those who only want to PvM will get frustrated easily as they feel they have done all the work for someone else. Then comes the idea to cross shards, and try somewhere more quiet. That does work, in fact, but there were also times in which we've gotten back to back 120 Magery scrolls on Ches. You just have to keep trying. But as long as one person is still PvPing on every shard, yeah, PvM guilds are going to continue to get owned ;P.

PS--Most PvP guilds tend to drop 110s and 115s at the altar, so there's a lot of loss of scrolls from that, too (regarding present day hoarding).

The 1v1 raider is rather annoying. They generally aren't very effective at doing anything other than preventing you from killing the spawn.

As for the drop rate, I thought it was just my luck, but the eight most recent solo spawns I've done have yielded a 20 fencing scroll, a 20 throwing scroll, three 20 chivalry scrolls, and everything else 15 or under. I've only obtained 20 magery scrolls by stealing at spawns...never from actually killing the champ myself.
