a friend whom i admire greatly recently said he was trying to complete his collection of 'welcome books'
Well i had recently accidentally upset him so decided i was gonna help him complete this task.
so off i trotted to hunters guide and located where the betrayers spawned.
jeez what a place! i have a number of archers and used my best one and i feel she is pretty damned good but this was a hell of a task. in all ive probably grabbed i dunno 40-50 books and u try it! i can solo and pvm anything and its paragon but hell that place is tough!

Funnily enough I first went to Blackthornes Castle last week, after unearthing details of the Dawns Music box gears. I had luckily found a Uncommon on a sole golem, thus decided to go and try fill my box up.

Got to the castle, and poked around with out much trouble, then decided to ask a few guildees to accompany me. We arrived thru the gate/hole/entrance, and ran straight into a Betrayer paragon, and boy, was that tough. I never imagined the para would be quite so difficult, in that 3 of us died several times without even scratching it.

Finally a Greater drag and several evs and a bit of magic saw the thing off, we ventured deeper into Blackies castle, and were having some luck in grinding the Juka Lords for bows and gold, when suddenly we got confronted by 2 Betrayer paras, a Controller para and a Jugg para. Suffice to say we got killed very quickly, and were unable to kill either, even with 2 greaters. Thankfully a bit of honor, stealth and Ethereal voyage got us our bodies back, but I can safely say WOW, this place it tough.

I can happily compete with all PVM and peerless etc, but these paras are something else. Seems such a shame that Lord Blackthornes castle is so empty of players, a lovely building, interesting, with some nice paras and some nice rewards dropping from the mechanicals......

Look forward to seeing if anyone else takes up the challenge:)

Hi,
I used to go there to train Provo, the place isnt that hard just a little laggy at times.
With a Peacer/Mage its easy.
