While I personally do not care for people saying *Happy* memorial day...because remembering our fallen soldiers doesn't make me very happy....I do wish to say to all those lost and all the families that have lost loved ones, I hope this day brings peace.

A single thread to celebrate a holiday that many UO players observe (and when many UO players are or are related to veterans) is okay in UHall. Past holiday threads have been allowed to stay.

This thread has been tidied up a bit. Please remain respectful and don't turn this into a fight.

If you celebrate Memorial Day, have a nice holiday. If not, have a nice day anyway.

***Cleaned the thread again. Please don't feed the trolls.

I think these songs say it better than I ever could:

We may not agree, or see eye to eye. Remember the men and women who died defending your right to speak and live free.

Freedom is not free, its paid for by the blood of soldiers.

On Memorial Day my thoughts always turn to my cousin, Phillip. I never met him, as I was born in '45 after the war ended... and after he was killed when his plane was shot down during the battle of Leyte Gulf. I still have a copy of his photograph that my Aunt kept displayed on the breakfront in her dining room.

May Phillip and all the fallen ones be remembered with love and great gratitude, always.
