As the title says, not to indulge in the risk free life of a trammy but to play with taming and the new system. Yeah I know I could have did that on TC but to be blunt I hate TC and don't think it gives a real shard experience of how things work. So I wait for Pubs to hit Origin.

Soo I have been on Origin playing with taming and the new pets. The Drakes over all look cool but most of them fail to impress me. With one exception the Stygian Drake. Serpentine Dragons I am kind of on the fence about but not seeing them as a good all around battle pet. Which I am seeing with most of the pets, it seems to me they tend to be more specialized to certain spawns.

One that I have anticipated being able to tame is the Tsuki Wolf. I think we all know I have a Tsuki Wolf Fetish that is right up there with my Zoogie Fungus Fetish ;) What I did not expect were the Tsukies to rank in my top 3 most useful pets! While the tamed version is watered down from the wild version they are still Brutal FAST attackers with good across the board resist and massive stamina. As a bonus they are also Necros Not something I expected at all. They have no trouble keeping up at mounted speeds and they RAGE. I can see a Tsuki trained up to 5 slots taking the place of my GD as my all around general purpose hunting pet. In a comparison of the Fresh Tsuki with my fully trained Origin 3.9 GD on Ogre Lords the Tsuki shreds the Ogre Lords much faster than the GD. What the Tsuki currently lacks is the HP and trained up combat skills of the GD so take a steady stream of bandages at the moment. Once he is up in Necro and Spirit speak he should be a brutal pet with a much smaller footprint than the floppy winged GD.

Now the funny part. I am so used to running for my life from a pack of Tsuki Wolves that upon logging in this morning I about stroked out with a Tsuki Wolf standing beside me in the Origin Wolf house. And took off at a dead run trying to drop a RC beside him before the coffee and common sense kicked in and it occured to me that the wolf is my tame LOL.

The other pet I think I am really going to enjoy is the Stygian drake. I have not anything with the one I tamed yet beyond tame it and stable it. But looking through it lore it might be a very nice critter to pull out on occasion to hunt with.

And yes I have began combat training on a Mongbat..... YOU WILL ALL FEAR MY SIEGE MONGBAT!!!!

Appreciate the input here, I tested fairly extensively on TC and even mapped out a training progression only to find out at the last minute that the training points being alloted on TC were bugged and way, way more than would be available on prod. That essentially killed my interest in trying this out until it has been in worldwide release for an extended period. Now the news is pets will have stamina capped at 150, so I won't be training any legacy beetles now (mine have max possible). Have you tried out the Ossian Ram? I think it is on the fifth level of Deceit, haven't heard much about it but I assume it being in a difficult location means no one has had the cojones to wander down there and grab one. I'd be interested to hear your experience with it if you do.

There have been a few rams already tamed on Origin..with Honor/Peace etc. they are fairly easy to get....not sure how they pan out in battle but they sure look awesome!

I finally got a Blood fox...I tend to go for the small yet deadly type...haven't begun training him yet but the sounds he makes are just SO CUTE! ;)

Origin is not my best equipped shard for going to dangerous places. I need to xfr a accounts worth of good toons and equipment there just because. I did spend the better part of the day farming enough gold for a castle, my Zento Pirate Port, a Wolf House and a 18x18 right out the Zento East gate to give me a few shacks to work out of for future pubs. LOL I can farm up a couple mil in a few hours on my main shards...... Even Siege but you gotta have the templates and equipment to do it. That being said my Tamer there with 115 tame 110 lore and 110 mage and some 80s bardic skills did fairly well. Not well enough to send deep into deceit though ;)

Nice to see another tamer with the same template as me. All this peace/provo/spellweaving crap..who needs it?? ;)

Though it is handy, I have SW on my tamer here, but on Origin she's just a mage tamer..works fine for me..for the most part ;)

I am a pretty basic tamer, I use hiding and stealth on my prodo tamers though because I hunt Miasma a lot on prodo and it makes life a lot easier.

I will agree as a few of my char's are Tamers across several shards all having the same template, and I have had very good luck there.

I'm going to make a tamer template for Freja, but hidding and stealth do not sound like the right for me.

What template do people else use, special here on Siege?

I would say that completely depends on what you're trying to do with it

Most of my tamers are just mage tamers but my Siege tamer has spellweaving.

SiegeTamer.png

This is the first character I've ever had spellweaving on, and it's funny because when I'm out doing stuff I forget I have it :/ For things like bosses/the roof/bigger things, Word of Death is nice but I find that when I am doing normal stuff like questing or hunting I never use it :/

My Siege tamer is the only one with stealth and hiding. Most of the tamers I have across other shards are normal tamers, taming, lore, vet, magery, eval int, med, we have a treasure hunter tamer on Sonoma and two spell weaver tamers on Sonoma and a Peace tamer on Sonoma, there is also a normal tamer there on Sonoma that across four accounts there.

On my Siege tamer I sometimes run hide and stealth but usually replace it with Necro and SS. Animate Dead, wither, strangle and corpse skin work very well on assisting the Pet take down a lot of critters.
