HACKED PLEASE HELP

as i write this my guildy is beeing hacked as we talk in vent please be careful its done through a programme sent through icq which causes screen to go blank and all your items drop even blessed items please help me to stop this guy he is transferring items to LS . gms are not responding please someone help

Sorry to hear, but WTF would you open a program someone sent through ICQ, especially if you didn't know them???? Wow.

we did know him he was in guild and no one was using an illegal programme

I really loved this game but i stopped playing it 2 years ago because of the lack of support from in game gms. I played another game and when stuff was hacked stolen etc it was given back by in game gms they actually cared enough to investigate, read your help requests. In this game there is often an automated response which indicates that the message has not been read by the gm. This is why this game is losing interest. GMs need to listen , most people thatplay this game not have put a lot of money into the game and pay to play surely they have a right to expect some decent support from in game GMs . With technology today those GMs can see all the items drop on the ground and from that alone know its an illegal event. You all know this game has lost players and reasons are because you are not listening to th eplayers . this is all so wrong.

YOU ARE SO RIGHT!!! I am so sorry that your guildy experienced this. I stopped playing because I was hacked and nothing was done , i was told nothing could be returned was in terms and conditions , why? because it would be too much hard work to move a few pixils around. Iplay another game now someone hacked me and I called GMs they responded and got me my stuff back and banned ip etc, what happens in this game nothing but sadlywe sing to agree to play maybe they do need to listen to the players and deal with the problems its not always about speed color etc its about players who enjoy the gaem please GMs listen act and OSI please do something positive about this hacking stuff its getting out of hand

Thank you both for the offer of help , its really just how mean people can be makes you wonder what kinda homes they come from. i dot think my guildy would feel right to take help but i will tell him to read the messages

You can't trust no one. No matter how well you think you know them. Unfortunately, most people lack in self control and choosing virtual items over friends. That same hack you described has been passed around a lot by a couple of people (won't mention any names) who have bragged about it to me. It's sad to see how these people are in real life and I'm sorry for your loss. Let me know if there's anyway I can help.

Beware of a guy named canada dry he tried to get a guy in my guild to download a script and claimed to be me. luckily my guildy was smarter than that.

it is really hard to reply to this and not come across as a prick. This cr*p happens every day in this game and has been reported in this forum, in uhall, and on uo.com.

Never run a program or open a forward/unknown email on a computer that contains data or accesses data that you care about.

It is not a hack. It is a script. I had a girl in my guild on legends loose her suit this way from a dude on LS.
He had to copy, paste, and then push play. I will tell you what I told her when she stood at the bank crying about it....When you cheat you get what you get!!

First off I would like to say sorry that your guildee is suffering from this problem. I personally have been hacked 3 times and I tell you it's a live and learn situation. Please have your guildee read the forums as many different hack forms are stated on these boards and they do help to prevent it from happening again. I never open received files through icq and change my passwords weekly. Good luck to your guildmate hopefully they don't let this push them from the game.

all i can say is ive been playing around 10 years. Never has anyone hacked my account information.
My best advice is changing paswords bi monthly. And for heaven sakes dont DL 3rd party scripts or icq files from people you dont know.

Wanderer, I know this may be hard for you to accept, but please keep in mind that your guildmate might be scamming you with a story about being hacked. You sound like a kind soul and I worry that someone may be trying to take advantage of you.

I have been in similar situations where a "friend" came to me last summer crying that he lost everything to a hack and naive fool that I was, I helped him replace stuff only to hear from him not long afterwards that it had happened again and he was going to quit playing. I helped another friend last summer get going on GL because he was bored with playing on another shard. Not long after helping him purchase some really sweet stuff to make a decent suit for PvP, he came to me crying that he'd lost it all to a hack. I helped him replace it after he promised to repay me. Didn't hear a word from him for months. Next time I did hear from him, he was bragging about a castle that he'd purchased on GL for mega millions.

There is a possibility your friend has really been hacked, but please trust your instincts and any feelings of doubt you may have about his story. Don't set yourself up to be the "kindest person in your guild" who in actuality is really considered by these jerks to be a gullible naive fool. I know that sounds terribly harsh, but please please take it into consideration. Try your best to limit your assistance to helping them locate replacement equipment or go hunting to make gold, and resist the urge to hand over your hard-earned gold.

I was playing once and I kept getting disconnected, every time I logged back in I was in a different place than I was when I lost connection. I changed my pass quickly on ultima-registration.com and while I was doing that I was going through the phone prompts for EA. I told them what was happening and they suspended my account and I would have to call back in and verify all my info before they would restore it.

I ran an antivirus and I found a keylogger. How it got there, I will never know.

Since then I've taken the guest account off so my roommate(s) couldn't use my computer and I haven't had any problems.

Cant believe u accept a script froma guy u have known for what 1 month... the guy hardly played ur shard even... let this be a lesson to everyone dont accept script from anybody period whether u know him or not.

Better yet, don't use scripts... they aren't legal for a reason
Woudln't have to worry about accepting them, if you just didn't use em.
