I think they should. Perhaps Ilsh may have some issues, but Malas and Tokuno have the same rulesets as Trammel, and therefore should be the same.

I personally don't GuildWar, so I wouldn't know.

Edit: I just realized how bloody useless this post was. Oh well, I hope you get your answer!

Just tested it....characters in the guild you are warring against show up orange in Ilshenar, Malas, Tokuno, Trammel, and Fel. I believe you can kill each other no matter which facet you're in (I tried Tokuno and it worked).

When you set up the war, you select the duration of the war and the number of kills required for victory. You can see the current status at any time via the guild roster (search on Guilds with Relationship, once the war has started). You can end the war early by having the guild leader of one of the guilds choose the surrender option. Members of the victorious guild see a message that your guild won the war against the other guild. Members of the losing guild see a similar message about losing the war against the other guild. Once the war is over, you will no longer be orange to each other (may have to recall away from each other to stop the orange hue, though.)

I'm not sure the war system works very well. There should be an option for guilds who want to war to set themselfs as auto accepting war invites and some visual way of distinguishing them in the guild menu, most probably don't have easy contact info (like icq's on a website etc) to set it up and if the GM isn't on it may go a long time unseen.

I think if it had a better system it'd be used a lot more.

Can faction guilds war? & if they can, do they count as faction kills on tram rule set facets?

You can use the shard guild pages on UO.com to see which guilds have the most enemies, I suppose. And the guild leader can always use the Guild Info section of the guild roster to display an ICQ # if they're interested in being contacted.

You couldn't get faction points in tram if you were a warring guild... Since factions don't exist on that facet, and the only way you're able to fight is because you're warring the guild, not the faction.

At least that's how I see it.

I wish that were true. And that being in tram rulesets/Ilsh means no stat. And you could party opposing factions when in that ruleset too. Sadly, that's not true. You can war if you are in factions. But the faction rules carry over. Alot of rp guilds in atlantic are warred and in opposing factions. But warring works perfectly fine on all facets.

I was referring to getting faction points in Trammel from killing a warring guild that is in another faction.

I know you can war on all facets. The question was, if you get faction points for killing another faction member outside of Felucca, in an opposing warring guild.

I'm not 100% on the faction point part, I doubt it. But you never know with these devs...

The guild war system is mostly used for RP purposes I think. BRING BACK CHAOS VS ORDER.

Bringing back Chaos vs Order would be amazing!
I say make the shields have great mods. That way more people will join to use them. Would bring a bit of PvP back to all facets as well as a little bit of roll playing.
Just a fun idea.

I have to ask....was the purpose of this thread just a thinly veiled attempt to find out and then publicize that there is another way to farm faction kill points, especially one where you can do it in the relative safety of Trammel/Ilshenar/Tokuno/Malas?

the purpose was to answer this question:

Do guild wars work on all facets?

:scholar::scholar::scholar:
Guild wars and factions wars are two different things.

Everyone already knows you can't fight factions in any facet but fel.
