Guard whacked in Luna

My boyfriend was guard whacked three times inside the bank tonight during the Luna invasion. What causes this to happen in Trammel rule set? Thanks in advance

Was he wearing reflect armor?

If he was using a greater dragon, perhaps it cast arch cure spell and cured the "enemy." I've had my GD do that with Lady Mel and go gray, causing everyone who healed my GD while it was gray to also become gray.

Releasing a pet that attacks someone will do it. I tried to tame a Hyru that was just released, it got mad and the prev owner got whacked.

Using a weapon or skill with Area Effect will do it....

I know throwing conflags, doing earthquake, holy light, Wither or using any weapon that has Hit Area will get you guardwhacked if you were standing anywhere where an NPC could get hit.

We had tons of guard whackings a few days ago on Chesapeake. Darn EVs kept hitting the blue guards.
