I have noticed GDs with 148 dex and 148 stamina, do they train up to that or are they capped at 125 when tamed?
I have fully trained Rune with 157 DEX...I tamed a Rune Beetle the other day and for the first time out of a ton of pets I've tamed in my 4 month Taming career, I noticed it had over 125 Dex. It had 138 post taming...
Dex affects melee attacks. It also seems to affect movement speed - not while mounted, but while the pet is following you.While we're on the subject, what does Dex do for a pet - does it help swing speed like it does for melee toons?

Thanks =)
Dex is extremely important in pets. It determines both the movement speed of the pet, as well as it's attack rate (by that I mean swing speed). I always look for high dex pets, especially with rune beetles. That's why, if you are a mage with 120 eval int you should always keep your pets blessed. It will make a very noticeable difference in how effective they are in combat. And furthermore, attack rate is determined not by the pet's dex, but by the pet's stamina, so it is important to keep your pets blessed so that they are always at max stamina when they go into combat.I never knew to consider dex when taming a pet... I'll have to do some testing to see if these creatures can run after targets in PVP faster.
I believe all stats except int get halved on taming with cu's, and several other tameables. So tamed cu will never have more than 125 dex unless it is blessed in some way. And yes, firebreath is another obvious reason to keep a greater dragon or a dread warhorse fully healed.my new white Cu had 155 Pre-Tame Dex but Post tame it dropped to sub 125, and I cant figure out why
jeza are you sure, stratics seems to think that top Cu dex can go to 160. link below
