Great Smugglers Edge Run!

My Stealth_mage changed templates to Mysticism which requires Imbuing to be at all effective, so I had to give up Hide & Stealth and my 66 Steal Fortunately saw a soemewaht cheap 120 Steal PS, and so by juggling sousltones I was able to make my Bushido swds amnd a Thief ( ss'd Bushido and Parry). New Template is:

Swords 120
Tatcics 100
Anat 100
Heal 100
Chiv 108 (ate 120 PS)
Hide 100
Stealth 40 (+40 from gear) = 80
Steal 66 (+60 from items) = 120

Went to Tokuno spawn, popped 1st phase - spendt half hour there and got 2 smugglers tool boxes,and the two diff colored green lanterns And a mess of balms and .4 Tinker sot - was a very profitable half hour - and safe with just 1st phase spawn

BTW - you can be mounted and steal using the SmugEdge - can beatt a hasty retreat when mobbed!

No it will auto steal aslong as you have the smugedge equipped, having the other hand free..

LOL - I've always stealthed, never rode in and stole I play more of a cutpurse than a Hiwayman I guess, so never realized you could ride and stel. My modus operandi was stealth-steal-cast invis-stealth away to next mark
Now that I have Steal on a warrior trmplate, things are different - smash and grab and run sounds like the better course!

BTW - anyone having better luck in Fel, quantity wise? So far i have 6 lanterns (all diff colors) and 4 smuggler pickboxes all from Lizardmen at Tokuno spawn. I've done about 6 half hour sessions...

I have tried at the tokuno spawn just because its lower level monsters and lots of them and had absolutely no luck except on mage/necro scrolls and potions....yay me!

Nice template.
I may look at this for my macer tho.
A couple slaps with a nice mace wep they gots no dex/stamina to chase after me!!
PS...and very little health if they do!

I wear 13 stealing/13 chiv/13hci/20pot inc/13 dam inc braclet/ring-burglars bandana-shadow dancer legs so i get stealing 120 and a higher chiv. I've designed my whole pally around this knife. I've taken it to almost every facet and spawn and the outcome is ho-hum. I believe the outcome has a good deal to do w/ the amount of times you get to wack a high karma crit. I've had the knife for 4 full spawns and 2 doom runs. I've gotten 4 lanterns, no toolboxes. Several balms and such but nothing to write home about. I continue to raise my stealing skill hoping real skill may make a difference. Also I added some luck to my guy(robe/sandles and uo statue) got him upto 660 and I seemed to get more steals, nothing better just more success.

yes just about any spawn with smugglers yields great things.. i have also been to tokuno,and most of the ish spawns any lvl 1 or higher spawn just attack with item and you auto steal still has the 15 seconds delay between next chance at stealing. But it takes about that to kill the lvl 1 mob with it anyway im using a normal warrior template and transferred my stealing from my mage thief to my warrior..Working out faster then using my mage thief for acquiring the new potions and balms

in 2 nights of about 4 hours of playing with the smuggler ive gotten over 12 lanterns and 5 toolboxes .. for potions and balms lets say im going to start up my vendor again to get rid of em all and i am 120 stealing makes a big difference,since weap is use best weap skill my fighter is a macer and is still gaining maces hes at 109.5 now110 topped

Have gone to fel only, since this is on my red character, killing things in dungeons basically has given me tons of the balms, 6 smuggler tool belt, 11 or so lanterns all diff colors. Loving the Edge!!

ok just a note as i cant find thred done lvl one undead in fel with knife for 20 mins got 6 lanterns loads off balms 3 sots and a bit off gold was fun still on my way to all 100 colours got 35 diff ones so far

when that happens i try to loot the corpse of the dead to see what is on the corpse.. sometimes like the dark wisp lets you know what you could not steal.. in the case of the dark wisp it was a body part...

Hmm I tried the same thing and all I get is gold...with 120 stealth 90 real and 30 from the legs and bandanna..

I don't believe the smugglers edge works anymore... Something else broken that will never be fixed...

I used it through 200 durability over the weekend and got not drops..just gold,scrolls, and weak potions..

There is a trick you need to steal from creatures that either have nothing to steal or items too heavy like bones, I find that going to spirit in Ilshenar and doing the champ spawn and only attack shadow whisps, (NO PARAGONS they have gold) do it there until you get too many candles and then go to the mini-champ in the Twisted Weald cave dungeon and attack shadow whisps rotating back and forth I can get 1-3 items an hour, I do the edge every Sunday for 3-5 hours and get 1-3 lanterns, 2-5 lock-pick kits and 6-8 various pots, DO ONLY SHADOW WHISPS and get some items.

Oh and this is one case where real works better, I tried with 90 real and arties and got much much less...
