Need some ideas on this...
I have searched the forum but nothing.

True, but a Graveyard thread without even any pics does it even less justice.trust me when I say pictures do NOT do the place justice. *smiles*
Yes all the people here have been very helpful. I saw Malag's cemetary and crypts and it was WELL WORTH the effort to make a character on Great Lakes to see it. Thanks again Malag!Pandora you have an awesome project coming together. I'm happy to see you putting this up on our shard. The grave yard has a spectacular base My best advice for deco is:
Take your time!
For every 100 ideas I have I would say 99 of them don't work out. I look at your pics and see many different concepts for deco. In the end it's your personal touch that makes all the difference. It's amazing how many little tricks you can pick up over time. Homes and Castles has a wealth of amazing ideas.
I am hoping it will be very clear. I was able to get the owner of one of the two placed homes in the area to adjust his home to play into the theme. He's going to be redoing his house as the nightclub, and he will be the club manager. He also knew us (CoD) from before and was interested in joining the guild with his characters. The other building there I have not seen the owner at all. But all of our buildings clearly tie into one another, they use the same basis for design, which is very classic --- a nod to the old school. For a player town, make sure your setup explains itself clearly. You don't want to spend a lot of time explaining what each building's purpose is and why things are organized as they are. This is one of my greatest challenges. I may have a great idea, but if folks don't get it then it really isn't all that great.
I usually use teleporters as a "secondary" mode of transport within a house. All of the customed homes have stairs (with the exception of the graveyard) and mobility is nicely placed to be used with stairs, the old school way. The graveyard uses the teleporters to get to the masoleums up stairs, but those have stairs.Mobility: If you are setting up for the masses, try not to rely on house teleporters (from the deco tool) to get around the place. Movement should be free and paths from area to area wide and clear. To me, teleporters kind of ruin the illusion. I only use them to gain access to areas intended for personal use.
I am actually trying for a "brand" so my buildings all use the same house sign, the same entry notation --- (CoD) Vamp's Lair - {name of building here}. I am making sure that the names clearly denote what's inside.A house name is worth a thousand words. My neighbors (PGoH) have an enormous player town at Trinsic swamps. Their decorator is mad devoted to their theme and really pulls of some intricate and jaw dropping illusions. But sometimes I don't understand what he is trying to accomplish until I read the sign. Then it all makes sense. They have over 20 houses. There are a few non-PGoH homes peppered throughout the town and it is easy to tell the difference.
That will be amazing Gheed, thanks so much. Add me on ICQ, we can chat there. Great advice. In about a week I will be free to help out a little more if you like. I would love to work on some deco ideas with you if you are up for it.
Europa? ICQ me and let me make a character there and we'll meet up. Unfortunately I do not know much about where the "garg abyss plot" might be as I have recently returned to the game. You can check mine as well at europa garg abyss plot, i made a graveyard tehre, with real nice results.
That is pretty amazing. And without the "custom" stuff too... very nicely done.I have a small one on the top corner of my keep. Nothing like you could create on a custom design though, and it took ALOT of dirt (called grave) to layer and cover the floor.
