(Player Event) Governor's Banquet

Greetings current Governors and all candidates!

Election season is upon us. Yesterday was the first day to put your name on the stone if you wish to be Governor during the next election cycle. You have until next Sunday to become Adored by the city of your choice and put your name on the city stone. Then it's time to hit the campaign trail!

In order to celebrate this event Minoc will be hosting a private party in the Lost Hope Bay (The irony is not lost on me here). All Governors who served in the CURRENT cycle, and all candidates who have been ENDORSED by Sunday, September 8 are invited to attend this Banquet and are welcome to bring one guest be it your significant other or your adviser, or just a friend!

We set sail at 7pm Eastern from the Minoc Town Hall and will spend the evening in an OOC matter discussing what to expect next month as a governor. Please note that this time may change slightly based on the EM schedule.

If you are not interested in being a Governor, or unable to attend. Please feel free to submit questions and we will bring them up at the banquet on your behalf, and provide the answers here for you to see.

Will the task descriptions and requirements for the candidates be discussed during the trip, or is it possible to have an idea beforehand of what to expect if we become candidates ?

Hey TehanChesapeake!

There is a lot of great information on the physical mechanics of the election process and Governor abilities here (uoguide.com). As far as your requirements as a person, just interact with people and have a good time! A lot of the governors have done several player run events. This isn't required by any means but it's a lot of fun and a great use of our title. It wouldn't hurt as well to brush up on your UO lore and current events!

The Meetings with the King aren't "Mandatory" but I would say missing it without a good excuse would look bad when re-elections come around. I don't think the EMs have asked me to do one specific thing the entire term, but I've done all I can just to provide content for Minoc and anyone else who wants to join in on my reindeer games.

Just a reminder that this is tomorrow evening. We have had several new candidates toss in their hats to be governor this election cycle. Looks to be 1 or 2 really good races out there for the title. I hope to see as many of you at the Banquet as can show up, and don't forget today is the last day you can get a nomination so don't delay!
