Governor’s Meeting 11-11-17
Greetings Siege, I hope yesterday was a special day for all. For us here on Siege, it was the monthly meeting of the Governors with our King.

The King started the meeting with an announcement of the past incident of the possible bombing of the council hall.
King Blackthorn: Ladies and Gentlemen of Britannia. I do not want to alarm you, but I have troubling news for you all. You may be taking your lives into your own hands by being here tonight. You have probably heard of the foiled plot to blow this building sky-high?
Natalia Marais: Oh no, more troubling news? Oh my, no I have not!
Kimi Mori: we saw the dragons outside
King Blackthorn: The perpetrator is still at large, and may try again.
Natalia Marais: I did not see any dragons. my goodness
King Blackthorn: Several of his dragons still stalk this isle. You are quite correct
Natalia Marais: How terrifying.
King Blackthorn: *nods*
Natalia Marais: I was warned
King Blackthorn: I do encourage you not to invite them inside their manners are atrocious but feel free to slay them after the meeting you may find yourself quite rich if you do.
Magichands: dragon meat *slurp*
King Blackthorn: still... As you can see, we have very capable guards posted on all floors, and the cannon on the roof was tested merely one hour ago. However, assassins may yet breach these walls. Please be on your guard. There have also been reports of a strange cult that worships titans. Each to their own, I suppose. These are severe threats to the safety of our citizens, and we must take them off the board! I know I can depend on you. The situation reported in Yew is being attended to. There are more guards present, and the Royal Sheep Breeder have begun to import a new breed of sheep with rather sharp teeth and claws.

King Blackthorn: Now, to our governors. I trust you are all aware that the next elections will take place soon?
*Several nods all around the chamber*

King Blackthorn: naturally, I remain neutral. But good luck to all who take part. As a reminder then, each governor may make two requests of the crown per term of office. These requests are to benefit your town, not yourself. For those governors who are currently seated, if you have not made your requests, there is still time. These requests, as I said, are for the good of the people you serve, and may be accepted or rejected at the discretion of the crown.
If a request is rejected, you may place a different request. So, let us hear from our governors.

And what of New Magincia?
Morgan Ironfist: New Magincia is still doing well city treasury stands at 45 million so the trade deal is mostly secured throughout the next term. I am looking to expand the city office.... so if any citizen wishes to sell his or her property to the governor, I would pay a top price for it, besides that nothing new me king.
King Blackthorn: An excellent report! Thank you for your service! Let us hear from Minoc's governor.
Blind Otto: eh? oh. right Milord Blackthorn the first, I bring grave tidings. Aye. Aye. Aye. Wait. I have no Ayes. But that is beside the point. Despite my efforts to keep the coffers stocked, Minoc's balance has fallen to a paltry 3 million. I will do what I can to restock it, but this cursed arthritis makes it hard to fend off brigands.
In other news, the elderly widow Flinthair, wife of Otis Flinthair, may he rest in peace, has given
birth. Minoc's townsfolk are declaring this a miracle and asking that a shrine be built near her tent. A rather strange man, proclaiming himself a prophet, arrived shortly afterward, and said that the newborn boy would one day be the Prince of Cove! This, of course, made the townsfolk more determined to have a shrine built and half the blacksmiths in town are now crafting baby-sized suits of platemail for the child. Strangely, it's a girl. This, of course, had resulted in a group of Minocans demanding that no shrine be built, and the false prophet be stoned to death. What does his majesty propose we do?
HRM was quick to reply as he did not wish to see a citizen stoned. Safety of the mother and child were first priority, then a safe place to secure the so-called prophet from possible harm was also discussed.
King Blackthorn: I think we will forgo the shrine until any proof of this child's destiny is confirmed. I would also suggest you ask around to see which gentlemen callers have been visiting the widow. It is very unlikely that the child appeared from thin air.
*gestures to guard*
Blind Otto: that is sound advice your majesty as to the shrine...
Sarah: *looks for jester hat*
Blind Otto: Well, your majesty, I shall leave the matter in your capable hands. Perhaps you could visit the widow Flintlock? After all, if her daughter is to be a prince one day, some royal input could not hurt, could it?
King Blackthorn: I do not really think that would be appropriate at this time
Blind Otto: Ah. Thank you. Now, I believe it is time for my meditations. *takes dried frog pills in great abundance*

King Blackthorn: *gives icy glare*

King Blackthorn: Do we have a report from Britan?
Venus of Urbino: Greetings all. I am sitting in for Starcon, Governor of Britain.
King Blackthorn: *whispers Please no widows*
Venus of Urbino: *unravels a scroll from the Governor of Britain, Starcon, and begins to read.*
Magichands: hahah
Venus of Urbino: All is quiet within the city. The current city balance is 7 million. and current trade deal is Bardic Collegium. *closes scroll* That is all he had to pass on.
King Blackthorn: a fine report. Thank you.

King Blackthorn: And what of Trinsic? Ah, the fair lady Sarah.

well Our Coffers are at 6 million Ours are dropping like everyone else’s except
well we may do a hunt or two or something to help ours I will keep them going

The Lady Sarah also asked about repairs to her city, the King also stated that the royal architect had visited and there was also a report of a small variety of beetle causing the damage. The King had sent word to a legendary entomologist, to see what can be done.
Sarah: running for the next term and having a crumbling bug eaten city *smiles*
King Blackthorn: *makes notes* Thank you for all you do! I am sure we will hear good tidings from Moonglow.
I can only hope that the desire to run the trade runs returns soon to the citizens of the lands.

King Blackthorn: How are matters in Skara Brae?
Natalia Marais: Greetings everyone. Skara is struggling along like some of the other cities with rapidly dwindling funds
King Blackthorn: *nods*
Natalia Marais: but I do want to thank those who have been doing trade deals and also those who have donated out of the goodness of their hearts. I hope we can continue to be solvent in spite of all the invasions, especially in view of new threats to the realm. We do stand ready to defend our King and country. Thank you.
King Blackthorn: Thank you! Vesper fares well, I trust? Hmm.
No Spyder? Strange as it was I had arranged for a single gold key to be in my pack, it was still there after the meeting.
King Blackthorn: And lastly, how does Yew fare? That will have to remain a mystery
Yew was also missing I had hoped to see another round of chat regarding the King and a possible heir. Specially with the facts of the possible bombing last week. Perhaps Blind Otto mystery female child in Minoc? Methinks those two Governor need to compare notes and maybe have a private meeting with HRM? There was, of course, the Lady Ptarmigan comment early. *The King is handsome and eligible!*
King Blackthorn: So, let us now hear from the outlying towns and cities. Are any of their representatives present?

Magichands: your majesty, governors this time I haven't anything special to report
Blind Otto: *waves a half-eaten sandwich*

Magichands: about our town life and business are going well our town is growing with new citizens that are setting up their home in our borders so everything is going well but if I can I have a little request
King Blackthorn: I am glad to hear it! you are free to ask
Magichands: it's possible for your majesty, and of course paying a fee, send a royal healer
Magichands: in our town?
Taylor: *smiles*
Magichands: lately we have always some problems to find them
King Blackthorn: I believe something could be arranged.
Magichands: and so one healer can be very useful we'll pay a fee of course for the service
King Blackthorn: I will speak with the healers guild, and find a suitable member
Magichands: well thank you for the help next week there will a festival in our town: all SP citizens are welcome to join us
King Blackthorn: I wish you well with your festival
Magichands: thank you very much
King Blackthorn: are any other town representatives present? Gilfane, or Safehaven, perhaps? Mother Lode? No? Very well then. Do any of the citizens have any requests or statements before we close?

King Blackthorn: Very well, thank you let us hear from Gilfane!

Morgan Ironfist: Gilfane has been haunted these last couple days by Zombie knights
King Blackthorn: *raises eyebrow*

Blind Otto: I haven't seen any
Morgan Ironfist: just this morning one was dispatched by the Nemesis Cavalery
Taylor: oh oh
King Blackthorn: *makes notes for guards*
Morgan Ironfist: If anyone finds the cause for this we should try to eradicate the source
King Blackthorn: are your citizens at risk?
Morgan Ironfist: Gilfane's citizen are a tough breed....
King Blackthorn: That is some distance from the nearest graveyard. I will investigate where they may have originated
Morgan Ironfist: so far we were able to handle them ourselves
King Blackthorn: Good. I am pleased to hear it.
Blind Otto: *brandishes Py Lethius's battered old sword*
Morgan Ironfist: But in case it spreads to other cities we can offer advice and maybe even help

It seems the lovely serving girls were missing from there, and a request was made to hire more if possible HRM stated he would have it checked.
King Blackthorn: Are there any other matters for this council?
As there was none we were released to kill the two dragons outside.
(I so wanted to stay after this meeting but RL once more called me away).
