got guard whacked from being attacked by one of those cursed guys in jehelom :(

so I'm fighting liches, and walk to the bank, and on the way back one of those red cursed guys pop out and attack me.. i go to cast a flame strike when a guard comes up and whacks me, saying "thou will regret thine actions swine"

what is this all about? :(
