Gorilla and Spellweaving

I see Gorilla's at the WBB on some shards that appear to have Spellweaving and being used for a Focus. Does the Gorilla have Magic abilities which allow Spellweaving to be added?

No, I was on my Spellweaver getting a Focus and the name in my journal was A Gorilla. The graphic was a Gorilla, but I didn’t try to see if it was a player in a costume.

I seem to remember that even if a pet has spellweaving it wouldn't be able to help with a focus. Even on a nontamer, you can lore tamed pet. It may take a few tries but eventually the page will open.

The Polymorph spell will let you take on the appearance of a Gorilla.
