Good wep for Necro/Samurai

Ok, so I'm in the process of vigorously training a Necro/Samurai (with REAL necro skill) and im looking for a good 2-handed swords weapon for him. Obviously the most used weapon for "Sampires" seems to be Soul Seeker. I'm basically wondering if there is a Arty or anything that is similar but two handed? If there isn't i was wondering what methods would be best to craft one? IE what weapon as in Longsword, Scimitar etc. and what tools to use? I'm way new to crafting as i just started playing agains a few months ago after a couple years off, this is an alt, and my Master Tailor is the first crafter I'v EVER made on UO, but he will also eventually have Blacksmithing.

I was just thinking and i realized how am i gonna craft a good wepon w/o a duped Val/Ver hammer? lol...kinda.:bored:

I'm not sure what a "good" 2 handed weap would be for a necro samurai. Longsword is very slow, regular Scimitar is a bit slow unless you get SSI 30. But they also are not 2 handed.

Soul seeker will be your friend for a long time because it is very hard to get something with that many (good) mods. Unfortunately, it lacks Damage Increase. You will go insame (like me) trying to get "the best" weapon.:coco:

Here's a suggestion. My smith finds it quite easy to get shadow runic hammers (1-2mods can get randomly added). He also gets copper runics lately (2-3mod ability). These are from the BODs I don't/can't fill the large BODs with. (example colored shield or helmet bods).
As a rule (for me) save any smalls and larges that have a chance for Bronze runics, and up. I did happen to score like two bronze runics (get 3 mods).

I love making Twinkling Scimitars(1handed) and Mage's Rune Blades(2handed, and IF in can get SSI 30). Heavy Ornate Axe(2hand) is also great (IF I can get 30SSI. For me..... mana leech is a MUST.
But that's just me :)

I'm not a crafter, so I can't tell you which weapons to craft. I can, however, tell you which traits to look for in a weapon and which weapons have the best damage over time.

You're looking for swords weapons, which is good. The single weapon in game with the best damage over time is the ornate axe. But in order to get the full advantage of the increased damage, you have to have at least 150 stamina (not dex) and 25% or more SSI. But even at less than full speed, the ornate axe can be an exceptional choice of weapons.

The rune blades, on the other hand, are also a great choice for a two handed swords weapon and swing slightly faster than the ornate axe. At less than max SSI, the rune blade can be a better choice of weapons than the ornate axe.

The best thing about both of those weapons is they both have disarm as a special move. But that's a different subject. For fighting the monsters, disarm usually isn't that great.

Now, for the traits you seek. Damage increase is a given, but if you're a crafter crafting it, you get DI automatically, otherwise, you can easily compensate for lack of DI on a weapon by having DI on jewelery, gloves (stormgrip, for example) and a talisman (primer on arms damage removal)

Swing speed increase (SSI) is probably the most important trait for any weapon with a swing speed higher than 2.5 (swing speed is max at 100 stamina for swing speed 2.5 weapons, so SSI would be wasted).

Mana leech is very important if you don't use wraith form. If you use wraith form, mana leech from a weapon is practially wasted.

Stamina leech is the number 2 most important trait on a weapon, since your life depends on how fast you hit, and how fast you hit is determined by how much stamina you have left.

With just SSI, mana leech and stamina leech, you have what many consider the "perfect" sampire weapon. But other traits, such as hit lower attack, hit lower defense or a spell effect make it even better.

My favorite wraith-form weapon just had SSI, stamina leech and undead slayer properties. I could collect demon bones in Doom faster than I thought possible, and with a demon slayer weapon, even the bone demon was little trouble to me.

Katrinas crook is two handed and has soul-seeker like mods. You will need a high stam to be hitting at a decent speed though as theres no SSI. 60% DI is crazy though and you could easily swap out DI armour peices for stam incr peices.

Crook is mace btw.

What template are you using? Is it for PvM or PvP? What tactics do you intend to use with this character..ie wraith, vamp etc?

Weapons with 2.5 speed need more than 100 stamina to swing at max speed. It's 135 stamina. So katanas and twinkling/radiant scimitars swing at max with 135 stamina. Of course you might need a little more to compensate when you get hit and it drops.

I'm in the process of building a Macer/Sampire. Mace weapons drain stamina from your opponent lowering their swing speed, which means they won't be able to hit you as much. Combine this with the stamina draining of pain spike and the sampires mana draining properties and you'll have a nearly defenseless mob in no time!

If your looking for a fast mace weapon check out the Berserker's Maul.

Good Luck & Good Hunting
