*quickly enters the tavern from the bitter cold wintry outdoor weather*

*shivers a bit and makes his way to the fire*

Hmm....died down a little bit last night.

*loads up the logs and kindling wood*

*the flames take to the kindling and the fire starts to grow*

There we go.

*makes his way back to the counter, starts the coffee and hot water for tea and cocoa*

I know we are going to need some warmth today. Welcome all and relax by the fire with a warm beverage.

* walks in quietly... *

Morning... tea and fish chips please.

*watches the meer enter the tavern, not noticeably disturbed by the cold*

*pours the tea and hands it to the meer*


So um...what are fish chips anyway?

* writes down the recipe... *

Cut fillets in to 2 inch squares. Make a batter by mixing dry ingredients and slowly stirring in beer. Beat until smooth. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375 degrees. Dip each piece of fish into batter. Drain. Deep fry a few pieces at a time until golden brown. Drain. Serve with salt and lemon wedges...

* Comes through the door shaking some snow off his cloak as he removed it, muttering something about it not being a fit day for man nor beast*

You would not happen to have some hot cider with some cinnamon in it, would you? A nice drink like that would hit the spot right about now. I doth love the scenery at this time of year, but wearing full plate mail isn't the best way to stay warm.

* moves across the room and sits down on a chair close to the fire to warm up *

So any of you spot the White Christmas Stag yet? I hear it is giving gifts to those it runs across.

*snaps out of his fish induced stupor and takes a seat*
Yes, its a chilly one out there. The white stuff's a-flyin'.

So is everyone ready? The fat man comes in just 2 days!

*watches the man clad in metal armor enter the tavern and is very thankful he does not sport that himself*

Good day sir, um...do you need a softer set of cloths whilst you let your armor warm? I'll check on the cider.

*goes to the back room and returns with a jug*

I do believe we have some fine aged cider, perhaps slightly more fermented than usual if you are interested. A little bit of cinnamon and time on the burner you might not be able to tell the difference, at first.

I have not run in to this deer you speak of, though I have heard tale of him. Admittedly I have been chasing other tail of late.

*looks over to Black Sun*

Indeed, two more days and the big man arrives. Ready? Hmm...I suppose I was either ready in October or not ready at all!

*takes a sniff of Podolak's cider, winces and passes it on*
I've not run into this white beast yet. I've heard tales of his existence, but I can't yet verify that with my own eyes.

Maybe you should try a bit of this cider and you might be seeing white stags everywhere, or is that white sticks? Hmm...who is to say?
